Not what we expected🙁 I made the reservation January 30th for March 24th which I thought would be plenty of time to get a nice table. Instead we were sent to a plain room upstairs in the corner with no ambiance. We said we wanted to sit in the bar 3 times but it was like they didn't hear us. We were there for Devour Indy. We were disappointed at the very small portions for the $45 price. The waiter said the Devour deal was "tasting portions " of the regular menu. The filet was about one half inch thick and was accompanied by two small Brussels sprouts and two potatoes the size of a quarter. My salmon was probably four ounces and was cold. Very poor value. I left hungry.
Our evening was very nice and the food was phenomenal. However, our service was a bit odd and interactions with employees seemed strained. If you're looking for a genuine experience with organic conversation with waiters about food and drink, this may not be the place for you. We also thought it was slightly overpriced for the service and very poorly lit dining area. It wasn't the ambience we had expected.
Good well done. Service better than food. Dining room should lose the 2 tops. No good.
Everything was fabulous, food and service. Very special occasion for us.
We dine at Vida regularly and have always come away with a five star experience. This is our first New Year's dinner there. With reservations made way in advance, and an early seating, we were very disappointed to be seated at a table in the bar area. The dining is not nearly as elegant and the noise level took away from the evening celebration with friends. Although we really enjoyed our appetizers (Pimento Grilled Cheese) and our entrees (Shrimp Toast and Scallops and Lamb Ragu) we were disappointed that we weren't seated for our 7:15 reservation until 7:55 either because Vida overbooked or they forgot about us and didn't "log us in" in their computer system. While I sat in the bar waiting for my table, Open Table emailed me asking me why I hadn't shown up, so I had the hostess correct that in their computer system. Intended special dinner for Christmas Eve. Got poor service, tiny portions and cold food. So much different than our first visit six weeks before.
Unfortunately the restaurant cancelled our Open Table reservation saying we had duplicate ones which we knew is not permitted by Open Table software. It turns out there were 2 parties with the same last name but different first names and they didn't notice. We arrived early and received a nice table next to the fireplace that did not work and therefore we experienced a cold draft throughout our meal. The food, service and atmosphere were what we are accustomed to at this restaurant we consider to be the best in the City!
