I have been coming to Vida for the past four years for the Mother’s Day brunch. The first year was exceptional in every way. This year was so far from that I don’t know if I want to come back next year. The food was very good almost excellent but the service was terrible. The server came to our table less than the water filler and plate remover did. They were more attentive to my sister and I than our actual waitress. The food and drinks were out of this world - creative and tasty. The server was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A bit pricey. But quite an experience!
Outstanding food and atmosphere. There was really only one reason I gave three stars on service. Our server was great, but after we ordered a bottle of wine, the manager or wine director (guy in a suit) came by and without saying a word put a heavy pour in everybody's wine glass so he could sell another bottle. This is an old trick and very low class. We were going to (and did) order another bottle anyway. This is constructive criticism as we love Vida!
The best part about Vida is the food. The worst part is their inability to manage the service side on a busy Saturday night. Having a reservation really doesn’t help very much.
Great food, service yet VERY pricey. Would eat here more often if price wasn’t so out of line.
Server was relatively new. Not attuned to superior, personalized service.
47 year together with these friends. All was good except the chef moved to Nesso and the potato pomme frites are no longer available as we were told the new chef doesn’t want to make the effort!🙃
Our server left a lot to be desired in that arena. She was inattentive and lacked enthusiasm. The duck breast, Wagyu beef, and foie gras was delicious, the rest to the food was meh. In terms of drinks, really enjoyed the Swiss Army Knife and The Night’s Descending.
When the restaurant called to confirm my reservation, they asked if we were celebrating anything in particular. I indicated that we were celebrating our two year dating anniversary. Additionally, if we had any allergies the chef needed to be aware of. To which I replied that I couldn’t eat pork.
