This place is overpriced. Tickets are full price at all times of day with no discounts for seniors. You also pay a surcharge for buying tickets online. Food and drinks are overpriced. I won't be back.
This place has a terrible policy for refunds. I work in the film business and have supported this theatre for years. I was unable to call ahead of the screening because I was on set, working and can't be on the phone. So I called 30 minutes after it began and the manager refused to give me a new ticket to a later screening. Funny thing is ALAMO draft house has an AMAZING refund policy and supports the people that support them. This place has terrible service in the restaurant and it always smells like s toilet because they s... read more
I've been in Austin 4 years and have always chosen Alamo Drafthouse as my go-to eat and drink movie theater. My boyfriend and I decided to try this out after checking movie times and this ended up having more show times available. The theater itself is a little hard to find as it is on the second floor of a high rise downtown. The parking garage is a bit annoying as it is extremely tight and busy, but then again what parking garage downtown isn't? I do love that they validate your parking so that you can park for free (other... read more
This place is creepy. The staff looks like they walked out of "Zoolander" and have about the same of intelligence level as Ben Stiller. They're not customer service oriented and haven't been trained well. The food is mediocre, you have to buy tickets online ahead of time so they can charge service fees, and the people who work there just stand around trying looking self absorbed. Creepy.
Went here last night with my friend for her birthday. We got pork tapas (SO GOOD), and the Mediterranean plate, also very good. We both ordered a $10 cocktail (choke on that price!!), the name had "Ava Gardner" in it I believe. The drink was AMAZING, but was TINNNYYYY. Seriously, 3 sips and you're done. We sprung for the front row recliner seats which, while comfortable, were extremely difficult and awkward to get in and out of (I was in a skirt! Hello immodest!) When the movie was over, the lights came up, and we sat an... read more
Would rather go to the Alamo Drafthouse. By the time I went to complain about the entire row in front of me being on their cell phones, there was not a manager to be found.
Great little bar for before the movie. The actual theatre itself was pretty small. Our 2 seats were sticky from the previous guests who were constantly cheersing with sodas and lollipops. A guy who worked there apologized and cleaned it up, cool. Gone girl was amazing! Check it out by the way.. But it's a long movie, and the drunk lady next to me thought it was too. Constantly leaning forward and back like she was working out her core to burn off those extra martinis. Not one time did I see someone come in to look over the a... read more
Was grossly over charged at the bar. Brought it to the bar managers attention. He accused me of lying. After a few minutes of sorting it out he came back to apologize to me. The entire time the bar tender stood there with a smirk on his face offering no apology.....great customer service.
The absolute worst experience, these tiny theaters are not even the price of admission, it's a joke and a shame that this place is still open. The worst manager I have ever seen Alex, describes himself as the owner the of the theater. Drinks had no taste to them and they even came even slower.
