Very clean and well appointed. We liked the small venue and assigned seats. The tray for food is small and a little awkward to get setup but it's okay for something small. There are cup holders for each seat. I think all the seats are good seats. Just remember there is just one set of stairs so if you choose a seat on the far end, you'll have to disrupt everyone on your row to get out. Good wine and beer choices.

There are so many reasons to adore the Violet Crown: 1. Excellent quality movies!! The best current independent, foreign films and documentaries. 2. Intimate theaters - you can never get a bad seat and the smaller rooms give you the feeling you're enjoying a private screening. 3. The chairs are very comfy. 4. Reserved seats - I love not having to get to a theater early only to hurry up and stand in line. 5. No pre-show how-great-is-our-theater-brand, commercials or subliminal concession marketing. I've gotta admit, Violet brings a bit more simplicity and intuition to the dinner+movie experience, or 'Dovie' as Mark K has said. First off, brilliant violet neon installation marking the entry. If you know me, this is already one extra star. On top of this, parking is free in the shared AMLI garage for up to four hours as long as you validate, and plenty independent films (Almodóvar, etc). My favorite theater of all time. It's the perfect combination of comfortable & classy. For a movie theater, it's as clean as it gets and offers a good selection of alcoholic drinks and desserts. For those hot summer days, the 4 hour validated garage parking is half the incentive to coming here. I can't say enough good things about this theater. Oh and all the movies they pick to show are good.

So excited to check out Violet Crown! They have a great assortment of "artsy" films. The food is pretty good and the drinks are strong. My only issue was that they give you a buzzer for when your food is ready, and you have to climb over other patrons to get it. You also have to bus your items after the end of the show. It would be perfect if they set it up like Alamo, where the waitresses take care of everything. Oh well, it was a great show and I'll be back!

Great theater -- with a consistently horrible experience. Canceling tickets is a project unlike canceling tickets at any other theater. You are required to accept all of their cookies in order to get past their app and web pop-ups -- which you must do in order to be able to buy a ticket and which I believe is illegal. They send spam, even if you don't opt-in to it. Their management is unresponsive and MIA -- and even ignore emails sent to the email address on their website.

Very rude staff. They don't post their movie offerings until sometimes less than a week beforehand. Only update the website with offerings on Thursdays, and the manager refuses to even get on the phone when you call to ask about upcoming shows. I love the theater but won't return because of the rudeness of the staff, and their inability to get their act together to notify the public about what their upcoming shows are in a reasonable advance manner.

Men's room reeks of urine and the smell is noticeable in auditorium #1. $16 for a matinee ticket? Staff indifferent, directed to a self service kiosk to purchase a ticket that had a barely functional receipt printer that was out of paper. This place seems to aspire to be an upscale experience. They are failing.
