I dropped off my healthy dog for boarding for about 5 days, and when I got him back he was sick with 2 viruses causing an upper respiratory infection and pink eye. No one thought to let me or the person picking him up know about his symptoms, which showed up immediately after being brought home. This place is disgusting, don't risk your pet's health by taking them here.
My first and last time ever sending my dog to Wag Hotel. If you care about your animal's health and safety, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. My dog received kennel cough after two and a half days of staying at the Santa Clara location. I've had my dog since he was 6 months old; he is now 12 years old and has never been sick like this until he stayed at that hotel. WAG Hotel lost me as a longtime customer due to its poor communication and issues with reservations. EDIT: To the manager: thank you for your response. I have found other boarding. Due to the inconsistencies at Wag and the blatant attempt to upsell me (my dog is a part of daycare play groups again without issue), I won't be a return customer. I had made a reservation in Santa Clara and they moved me to Redwood City without telling me until after I showed up in Santa Clara. This was a huge inconvenience, not to mention a waste of my time driving all around town. Then, they said that they weren't doing any evening strolls because they were too busy, but they charged for it. So it seems like a very disorganized place where they entice you to add on all these premium offerings that you won't ever know if your dog is getting or not.
Brought my dog in for bath and nail trim. Later in the day, I looked closer and smelled her, turns out the groomer did not bathe my dog or trim her nails! And this isn't the first time that had happened either! The first time I noticed it as I was driving away, so I turned the car around and went back. They confirmed it wasn't done. Absolutely Poor Customer Service - 2nd time - scheduled grooming appointment. When we arrive - no groomer on site. 1st time - had a scheduled appointment, had to wait almost an hour for the groomer to finally show up. Be aware your card might be charged randomly!!! **Update- Christen claimed to have zeroed out the payment, but this is not true. Just called my bank again for the 3rd for this matter, the banker told me Wag hotels has not refunded me and they will investigate the matter. The partial refund reflected on my account is part of the bank's service to me and I will have to send in any supporting evidence. I would give 0 star if I could. Not basing review on my pet staying there, only the arduous and irritating process in trying to book and confirm a boarding resv. First, the positives. Place seems to be clean, nice. Staff are friendly, seem to care about the dogs. Great. Now to the negativeS. They won't let you have a confirmed reservation until all of your vaxx's are uploaded. OK, fine. Our 7 month old husky stayed at this location for two and a half days. This was his first time at a pet hotel. From the beginning the booking process was a pain in the butt. During reservation, I requested for a deluxe suite plus all day play. I waited for over a week after the request, until I received a cancellation email. We never requested a cancellation.
