Tom was friendly enough, and polite to be sure. And I will acknowledge that our purchase had some challenging aspects to it. But being told one day that all we needed to do was pay off our previous mortgage in order to proceed, then after taking out money from a retirement account, being told that we suddenly also needed an additional 125,000 dollars felt kind of "used car salesman" like. Communication was horrible - had to ask the same question multiple times to get an answer. Several people were involved, didn‚Äôt know who to contact, loan officer was completely unreachable for about 5 days, received documents that needed to be signed in less than 24 hours on a few occasions, I didn‚Äôt receive confirmation that documents I sent had been received, loan amount was not fully discussed before receiving papers that needed to be signed within hours of receiving them, the closing was a complete scramble, 3 hours ... read more

First Tom & Theresa were great. But GO Mortgage was the worst lender experience I‚Äôve had in over 30 years and nearly 20 transactions. Never had an issue once we got Clear To Close and wired funds. GO has substandard processes and we worked all day the day of closing to get under writing happy‚Ķ30 hours AFTER C2C and the wire. GO was redoing paperwork while we were at closing at title company. Rich gave us false expectations on how things get paid. In the end he quite replying and I had to get in touch with his supervisor. He didn‚Äôt know anything he was talking about and had multiple mess ups. On the other hand Jon Lee was amazing to deal with and if it wasn‚Äôt for him nothing would have gone right. Jon Lee stepped up and handled things that really Rich should have. I would do business with Jon Lee again but not Rich!

My broker admin fee was not on the initial closing statement. Once this was corrected, this was not the amount the buyer was told to bring so at closing, buyer was short $695 and he had to go to his bank to get this. Could have been a better experience with confirmation of final amount to bring. Everything was great, but if I'm not paid correctly, I don't refer business. We felt the messaging about signing lower importance documents was heavy handed and needlessly stress provoking. Also the online document system would show outstanding to dos for one buyer when only one of the two buyers needed to complete a form, causing confusion and stress on our end. Last, on the day of closing, sending critical documents for e-signature was delayed because of a "system glitch" followed by one of our Go agents getting a call from a Realtor who "loves to chat." The appraisal process was a little rough, the last minute declaration that the railing on the stairs to the basement was maybe a problem on a Conventional loan was unnecessary and should never have even come to light. Also, some of the last minute communication with the buyers was incorrect. Giving them instructions to have funds wired to the closing attorney was incorrect and I had to intercept them before they actually did that. I‚Äôve bought 2 times prior and this was by far the hardest process. One time with bad credit and the other with good. Each of those times was way easier than this time around. We found out 2 weeks before closing we had to get $31k of debt out of my name. It actually ended up delaying closing.
