I was originally a customer of the Elmhurst Animal Care Center which I heard was affiliated with WAH. I had recently moved one block away from and thought I would give it a chance. I have an English Bulldog, which I adopted at 4 yrs old. I believe he may have been a puppy mill dog at one time, and that the previous owner was not honest about his health issues when rehoming him. He has TERRIBLE allergies and we have had a pretty consistent relationship with veterinarians since we brought him home. I brought him to WAH a ... read more
This place gave my dog scabies!!! Seriously, not sure how this happens in this location, my dog is inside 95% of the time. She has never had an issue until we boarded her here and less than a week after we got her she started itching like crazy!! The vet gave her steroids and a topical spray and no matter how many times I asked if this looked like sort sort of mite or parasite infection, they kept going back to seasonal allergies (FYI, my dog is almost 9 and has never had a seasonal allergic reaction to anything). After much... read more
Not that impressed at all. I have three rescue dogs. Honestly, with three dogs I would have thought on their yearly physicals, they could give me at least one office visit free. It costs so much for their shots and office visits and the doctor has an attitude. When I had a problem with one of my dogs, the vet assistant told me there was a solution with meds but the doctor said no there is not. Just not warm and fuzzy and does not seem to help.
Had my cat Cory declawed here and the first few days after getting her home she would not use her front paws so we took her back they told me she was fine and to just give it few more days after a week went by she still was not using them so i took her to Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital where they had found none of the holes had been closed never go Wheaton
Stay away from this hospital for any surgeries for your pet! My dog came in for a Mast Cell Tumor removal and was not cared for properly at all. We dropped her off at 7:30am as asked for prep, she sat in a cage for 4 hours before brought into surgery. we were told to pick her up at 1 pm and they said she was fine, give her pain pills every 12 hours and sent us on our way. To start i carried her to the car cuz she was still under anesthesia and bleeding from her incision. I asked a tech to take a last look that this is not ri... read more
I brought my dog into the Wheaton Animal Hospital to be boarded for 2 nights. When I picked him up, they informed me that there had been no problems and that he had been a good dog. When I got him home and took him out, I observed that he had bad diarrhea and blood in his stool. I called back and spoke to the same rude employee I had contact with when I picked him up. She now informed me that my dog had diarrhea during his stay and that they had changed his food because of this. I guess they felt that they didn't need to tel... read more
I have a major grudge with the Wheaton Animal Hospitol. Granted for minor things, they are wonderful. For surgerys, I ask that you please go elsewhere. One of my dogs, had ovarian cancer and upon surgery everything went fine. After two days of keeping an eye on Sassy, we were able to go and pick her up. Her wound was not properly sewn up, so she was bleeding and slowly an infection showed up. After three days of bearly moving, we had to put her down. I will NEVER go back to the Wheaton Animal Hospitol and have always held th... read more
