I was comparing prices for an upcoming move. While researching companies, moving companies “magically” appeared as ads on FB. The add said I could receive a free quote from area movers. I requested a quote, 20 mins later, I received a call from All My Sons moving company in Newport News. I spoke with Melissa and I expressed explicitly my desire for professional movers & desired price point. Don't make the same mistake I did by hiring this company. They just charged me $260 in gas for a 2 mile move, PLUS an extra $169 just for showing up. They don't tell you that until they have all your stuff, and they threaten to take all of your belongings if you don't pay what they want. I just spent $1200 moving from one small house to another less than 2 miles away!!! All because their sale agent,Melissa, promised to beat the price of the other company that I already had by $100. That was a complete lie!!!!
Worst. Company. Ever. Do not use these people. I was moving from a one bedroom apartment to a small house. I’d spent about a month doing most of the smaller items like clothes, kitchen items, etc and had emptied most everything out of my place. I had my furniture and maybe 10 boxes to move. I was quoted at $119 and hour with 2 hour minimum. I was told they’d charge me an hour for travel. extra charges added from the initaial call. manager did work with me. then the movers scraped down the side of the stucco building and i sent pics to GM. he pretty much said no damage to the truck and for me to wipe down building. they scraped into the stucco , not something you can wipe off. never again with this company.
I'll will make this as short as possible. They showed up with a truck not big enough for the move. They had to use my packing materials because they did not bring enough. Had to make two trips with one truck which caused me to have to pay their "overtime" fees. In the end it cost about 3x the expected price. Although they had to use my packaging supplies I was charged when they used theirs for packing a television. They were completely unwilling to work with me due to their mistake and not cooperative over the phone at all.... read more
First of all, my move was scheduled for 8-10am on a Sunday morning. I was put with another team due to a mover's injury and the new team (coming from suffolk) didn't show until 330pm. To make it worse, on a local move, for a 10x10 space they didn't finish moving my stuff until nearly 8pm and it should NOT have cost me $900!!! We decided to hire “professional” movers for our move this time. It is still a NIGHTMARE. All My Sons Moving is unprofessional, rude, and damaging to the property and furniture. The price gouging is unbelievable while your stuff is on their truck! The total was 2.5 times our quote and they wouldn’t unload until we paid them. When we call, Jeremy is especially rude, refusing to adjust our bill and telling us it’s our fault we can’t do math. I was quoted 2800 estimate for all my furniture (I gave a full inventory to 2 different associates). When we arrived at the new house the price had doubled and they held my furniture hostage. When I asked to speak to a manager about all the extra charges he gave me the run around, basically refusing to answer. Then, 15 min into the call he informed me that he was charging me the hourly rate while we talked! I was also told that they would protect my floors and doorways.
