My boyfriend & I were in SD for the day and saw this place on social media as a recommendation to try. We decided to try this place as it was also walking distance from our hotel. We made a reservation & we were seated upon arrival. The lady at the front asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor and some other man came and told her where to seat us. Flat out terrible. 1/3 of the menu was unavailable. Service was lack luster at best. From rude interjections to not knowing their own menu, flat out a no. Do yourself a favor…. Skip this place. You might need even get a better experience at Olive Garden or Cheesecake Factory. (Seriously) besides it’s location, it’s a zero star all around experience. Do better Allegro.
I picked the surf & turf. My steak did not taste good at all. The lobster was average. My wife order sea bass it was dry. It took over 45-50min to revive our food. The only thing that was great in our experience was our server. Italian guy, I forgot his name. But he was amazing. Can’t blame him for anything or the experience. He did all he could do. Brought us out 2 Free desserts for the wait on our entrees.
It took 15 minutes to get a server to bring us water. It was really expensive and the cocktails were horribly watered down , and the food is not truly authentic Italian food. Spaghetti with Pink sauce??! Come on are you kidding me??! Not happy at all, I took my picture under the lemons and that’s all that place was good for.

I was so bummed to find you that the cheese wheel pasta is not available Fri-Sunday . I made a special reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday. And unfortunately l couldn’t surprise him with the pasta he’s been dying to try. Also the pistachio dessert is nothing like l saw in the pictures . Our server was amazing though
Food was great! Really noisy. Hot night and it was unbearably hot in the restaurant. Apparently no functioning A/C at all and it was sweaty.
There are so many wonderful Italian Restaurants in San Diego’s Little Italy, but Allegro is not one of them. This was not a memorable dining experience. We were offered only bottled water (sparkling or still) but no tap water. This occurred so quickly, we didn’t realize we were paying $8 a bottle!
