"I've never been a big fan of warranty plans but decided to roll the dice when I bought a DVR off eBay. About a year later the DVR stopped burning discs and I filed a claim. The next day I received troubleshooting instructions on how to clean the recorders lens, which I hadn't thought of and hoped would resolve the problem. Unfortunately it did not.
