Since 2012, I have purchased four Squaretrade insurance plans for mobile phones. Here are a few potential pitfalls that buyers should know before buying an insurance plan. 1. Claims will not be covered by Squaretrade until the mobile phone manufacturer's warranty has expired. For example, if you have a new phone, the Squaretrade insurance won't cover claims until the one year manufacturer's phone protection has ended. Don't sign up for this company!!!!! Told scam! No one would ever pay $129 for a deductible to fix an iPhone. I can get my screen fixed for $60 cash. Target doesn't tell you anything about the deductible when they sign you up. Have complained to Target as well! Serious warning don't sign up! I also spoke to a customer service representative that never told me about the deductible. It was only until after my phone was replaced and I submitted the receipt that they informed me about the deductible and were very rude!!!!!! Worst... read more
