I purchased two Fitbits and I purchased Square Trade warranties on each Fitbit.One for my grown daughter and one for me. Both Fitbits stopped working. Square Trade’s response to my request for repair or replace was that the Fitbits were damaged due to negligence. I let Square Trade know that I am a retired professional person and that the Fitbit was used correctly without any negligence. My daughter is also grown and professional and resented the response. My initial experience was really bad - emailed all receipts etc as required, but no follow up. Had to keep calling for updates. A few weeks went by before being told in another phone call that they couldn't read the sales receipt, so I re-sent all paperwork again. Finally paperwork was approved & then things moved quickly once I was connected to technical help. This was my first experience with SquareTrade and any extended warranty. I was hoping to get a new item or a replacement, but SquareTrade just reimbursed me a pro-rated amount. My item was less than a year old and wasn't being covered under the manufacturer warranty so it was nice to get something back. Unfortunately I am back to square one where I need a new product and possibly a new extended warranty.
The title says it all. I like geek squads style of warranty better they take it from day one.

We'll refer you to the manufacturer in the first year to help preserve the value of your warranty with us, but we'll cover you for shipping to the manufacturer, and it doesn't deduct the value of your coverage. Purchased a 3 year warranty directly from Square Trade on a TV Sound bar, purchased on EBAY NEW. Since the seller was not a manufacture authorized seller/dealer of the Sound Bar they would not honor their warranty. Since I purchased the warranty directly from SquareTrade they honored the warranty. Item was sent to SquareTrade (postage paid label emailed to me. These options are available in areas where a SquareTrade in network repair center is located. My purchased boom box CD would not work. I had it checked by Best Buy Geek Squad and was informed it could not be repaired. I filed a claim with Square Trade who quickly answered and sent me a check. Great, fast service.
We had a TV warranty with Square Trade and they did replace the TV however they gave us very little selection in replacement TV"s which in my opinion were inferior quality to what we had. When we complained they said we could have waited for a better TV but since we already had received a replacement (we had not opened the box) they could not make a change.
