I had to find my own repairman, pay for the repairs and then submit a receipt to them. I feel that should be included in the protection plan. Hassle free is what I paid for, not what I received.
I was not expecting it to go so smoothly and so well.
It was super easy to file a claim and my payment was received quickly.
I had no trouble at all getting help replacing my broken headphones.

After one and a half years of use the left earbud failed for no apparent reason. I am happy that I invested $7 in the protection plan. My new earbuds are on the way.
Both phones developed problems after 4 years of use. One continually dropped calls and required reboot before enabling the receipt or placement of phone calls. The other lost most of the external speaker volume. My Square Trade protection plan provided for 2 new phones of the most current version and most similar to the 4 yr old models. It was definitely worth the expense.
