I give 2 stars only because the last encounter was was positive however the previous issue has never been resolved and I don't see a resolution in sight. My pool filter is a covered item but the technician just put epoxy on an obvious crack twice instead of replacing it. Naturally the filter cracked completely and drained my entire pool damaging my new landscaping. I called AHS immediately and they still haven't gotten back to me or sent the technician out. I opened a service request at the end of November for a dishwasher that won't run because the door latch is broken. The tech ordered a part to complete the fix. The part is on backorder from the manufacturer with no estimate of availability. I've called the tech almost weekly for 3 months for a part status update. I've also called AHS four times for an alternate resolution, possibly replacing the entire door instead of waiting on the latch. Contractors they assign suck, they take 1 and a half weeks to come out then when they do another 1 week to orders parts that they sell at home depot

I had 2 issues with plumbing. One was a leak behind a wall. The other one was a stoppage in a sewage line. They would not send anyone else out to see if they could unclog the stoppage. The plumber claim it was a foreign object causing the stoppage. I asked for a supervisor didn't get one. Still waiting on the call back from a supervisor, that been over 4 days now.

I cancelled my contract with them effective 06/01/2021 after being a customer for several years. The vendors they use seem frustrated having to deal with them and I question the quality of their work. Last year a vendor fixed my furnace with a part that was “makeshift”. I found this out when we put in a new furnace this year. We took cash in lieu because we had such a run around with American Home Shield.

This rating is based on our last experience with replacing our stove top. Prior to that our experiences have been 4 to 5 stars. We have recommended your service to friends of ours for the last six years with several of them signing up and using American home shield. One of them has already left due to poor service and another one is seriously considering dropping your services.
