Always take more than an hour to answer their phones and the length it took them to completely fix my problem took weeks. Companies they work with do have great service!

Hour waiting time on phone. Incorrect billing records. Being billed as delinquent for service call in July which was paid.
The wait time for calls to AHS are 45min to an hour ... that is ridiculous ! I had a problem with my tankless hot water heater I had to make a change in the company because the first company was not qualified to work on the hot water heater . The second company finally got the job done but it took almost a month for my hot water heater to be repaired . It was really a nightmare ! I never remember AHS having such poor quality and customer service
The process is very slow. If you try to call for Service you will spend over an hour on hold before getting a rep. You can file a claim online, which is much quicker. Unfortunately the website has very poor service tracking, leaving you with more questions and back on hold for an hour. My microwave needed to be replaced, the time frame from placing a Service call to getting a functioning appliance was 5 weeks. Not acceptable for me.
I've had American Home Shield for 10+ years. They used to be good, but OMG have they changed. The last 2 calls I placed - one for plumbing and one for A/C work - ended up being more expensive because nothing was covered, and I had to pay a $75 copay in addition to the repairs. They cover less and less each year, but charge more and more. I have requested several service request from AHS. They collect my $100 and then send out a contractor who can NEVER fix the issue. Then the contractor calls AHS and they say the issue would not be covered. I am very dissatisfied with AHS. I would not recommend them to anyone. Save you $100 each month and spend it on a professional that will come to you home and fix your issue the first time.
Worst customer service ever, but the big one is that they don't cover what they say they will. AHS usually has a contractor that they have in their back pocket. They will come out a make some kind of excuse why AHS, won't cover it. These guys used to be good, something in the last couple of years has taken them off course. i deal with over a million dollars in real estate and these guys would never be allowed in my house again. Buyer beware.
Called American home shield for service on my LG washer. The company they sent out said it was a computer in front of washer and seal. Said it would be 5-7 days. Didn't hear back from them . I called them and they said they couldn't order the parts needed that ams had to. Called me 2 weeks later and said that I had an appt for 1-12. Then called back and said they had one for 1-10. Then on 1-10, tech called and said ams ordered wrong part. So waiting again. Sad that they don't care for their customers .
