I had a fan that was working but out of balance. I told customer service this and paid the $75. Fee. Sent out service guys for a re balance, then said not covered because the fan is still working. I ended up buying a new fan. They screwed me.

I have had AHS for 15 years. With the exception of plumbing the people they send are very good. My big complaint is over the years the wait for a repair person keeps increasing. Whn in the past it was one or two days now it is one or two weeks which is unacceptable for most repairs. imagine being without your heater or AC for 3 weeks or even your washer or dryer.

American Home Shield might have the worst customer service for any American Company currently today in the US. Its unbelievable the wait times just to speak to a human being. You can call at 8am EST and they prompt will say they are receiving higher than normal call times. I don't believe that, I just believe you are unprofessional and you don't consider customer service. If anyone is considering to purchase American Home Shield policy, PLEASE DON'T. THEY ARE AWFUL.

Terrible company/ horrible customer service, no communication, over an hour wait time on the phone. It’s been 3 weeks now that I’m waiting for a part for my refrigerator and I had to call to find out the status but you have to prepay / they don’t care about their customers anymore, have been with them for over 15 years- shameful

I couldn't believe the lies and dirty trick American Home Shield did to me after YEARS of my faithful patronage of their service. Let this comment be a stern warning for AHS and how they lie to their customers. I had a policy in place for years, MANY YEARS, for several of my properties. I had contacted them in the summer of 2016 informing them that I no longer wanted autopay, and to send me monthly bills via USPS. I guess this was partly our fault, but when we needed our furnace repaired, the technician indicated he has approved for us to purchase the thermostat since he didn't have one like the one we had to replace it with . He indicated AHS would reimburse us in full for the cost and we purchased one like the one we had. That in fact was not the case, they would only reimburse for a set amount and not what we had paid. Premium is too expensive and it takes to long to get someone to come out to your home also the service fee is way too expensive.

If you want to wait for hours (literally) to speak to someone about a problem you are having with the home warranty.... this is the company for you. Customer Service is not a high priority with American Home Shield.... they are more interested in taking your money.

My spa heater went out and initially service started well until I needed to contact customer service. I waited on the phone for 1 hour+ just to speak to a customer service rep. There is no direct line to contact the rep back for questions or follow-up. When my spa heater got fixed, my panel inside my house all the sudden stopped working. It too 2 calls to customer service to find out they were not covering it and a third time to authorization department to find out why since I got a different story each time.
