Wish I could give zero stars. A month after I canceled my service they charged me for a year of tank rent. I never authorized a payment or ever got a bill. They emailed me the day after they charged an unauthorized fee to my credit card to tell me my balance was $0 so I didn't know until I got my credit card bill that they had charged me. They told me they had record of me authorizing the payment which I wouldn't have done for canceled service. Horrible service. Tried for over 2 years to get them to pick up tank and cancel service with them. 6 months after we finally got a pick up date they randomly showed up to pick up tank. They damaged our yard as well as our driveway. After 6 months of complaints and the run around from Representatives and the territory manager they promised a resolution. We then got an email saying Insurance won't cover the damage. They are very fraudulent people.
Zero stars is generous. We purchased a home with a 20 year old Amerigas tank in the yard, The home had not been occupied for over a year. No idea how long the tank had been empty. In November, 2022 I contacted Amerigas for propane service. They promised to inspect and fill the existing tank. By mid-December 2022 they had not returned any phone calls about when they would provide service, so we contracted with another propane company and told them to come get their tank. Worst customer service ever! After 20 years with them, we asked them to repair and move their rented tank as it had rolled on to our house siding causing rot and mold. We had been requesting this for over 1-1/2 years with nothing. We finally cancelled our service and told them to pick up their tank! It took over 3 weeks of constant hounding. Watch out! Bait & switch in its' purest form. Mail communications received from Amerigas with promotional offer. Called three times to get the delivery of 100 gallons of propane based on the promotinal offer. Recieved a text saying they would send only 52 gallons. I called to ask if this was some sort of "rationaing" a limited amount of propane fuel, and/or why send a truck for 52 gallons for an order of 100 gallons. Amerigas has terrible customer service. This year has been the worst. I pre-bought gas on July 5, 2023 for $2.33 per gallon for 900 gallons. On 9/26/23, I received a bill showing I owed $1259. The bill had the gas priced at $3.489 per gallon instead of the $2.33 per gallon and it did not show my pre-buy payment of $1854.53. I have called Amerigas several times. They have not yet resolved my problem. The call center is the worst. I would recommend that you not purchase propane from this company.
They have the worst service and they cost the most!! - They are very expensive - They would not come get their tank when we decided not to have their service anymore. - They finally came and got their tank 9 months after stopping service with them after calling numerous times to have them come pick it up. I received an email on 9/13 from AmeriGas offering a $20 discount, valid until 9/29. I went online to place the order. The website would not accept the promo code, but it placed my order. Gas was delivered on 9/19. The invoice did not reflect a discount. I called customer service twice to resolve this and adjust the invoice. Both times, the connection was so poor they couldn't hear me. The noise in their background was a cacophony.
