Amerigas is the worst! I was a customer for probably 10 years or more. Come to find out that they had been overcharging me for several years. I told them to come get their tank. They were charging almost double the going rate for LP gas. When I asked them why they were overcharging, they claimed they weren't. Basically they were overcharging by around $1,000 a fill. Needless to say, we have parted ways. There should be a lawsuit against them for knowingly overcharging their customers. And if Amerigas is ever your last resort... read more

Amerigas charged me $3.829 per gallon of propane. When I called MFA they gave me a price of $1.99 per gallon and Ferrallgas gave a price of $2.12 per gallon. I have written 3 emails to Amerigas requesting that they adjust their price to be more competitive with these companies but have gotten no response. Amerigas also charges me $135.00 per year for tank rental where as MFA charges $45.00 as I remember. This is a terrible company to do business with.

TLDR: Stay away from this company. Amerigas is a truly rotten company to deal with. I've been a customer for 10 years and just discovered they are charging me about $1.50/gallon above average residential propane price. They charged $3.99/gallon for a delivery on 12/6/2023. Last year Amerigas charged me $200 to put a sticker on the tank that I own. After months of arguing with them that I didn't ask them to "re-certify" my tank and didn't agree to pay for that service, they finally let it go. In Oct 2023 they sent me a postcard promoting a $1.59 per gallon refill if requested by 12/8/23. So I requested a refill on 12/6. They said it would be filled by 12/13. It wasn't. Just to add to the chorus here - I have been without gas since 12/24. I have been on the phone with them day in and day out and all I get is I have made the request someone will call you. Which they never do. The issue is that they let the tank run out and they need someone here to do a leak check. Fine. But they didn't call before they showed up so no one was home when they came (you know, holidays, work), left a number that is disconnected for me to call, and now I'm spending days and days on the phone trying to get someon... read more

Does not work with Disabled Veterans for payment plans. I was out of the country and the person watching my house did not make payments and unfortunately passed away from a health issue. I was able to return home due to this and Amerigas would not work out a payment plan with me.

DO NOT USE AMERIGAS!! Worst company of any kind that we have ever had to work with. We bought a house with an Amerigas propane tank. We had the tank filled. Then we bought a whole house generator and spent the next 6 weeks trying to get Amerigas to set an appointment to hook up the generator. You cannot talk to someone local. Their support is in the Phillipines and despite dozens of calls, emails, and use of their on-line form, we NEVER received a call to set up an appointment for hook-up. My propane supplier was a local company that provided excellent full service for gas appliances. A few years back the local owner sold out to Amerigas, and ever since, the service has taken a nosedive. First the local AmeriGas facility stopped filling and servicing small 20 lbs. propane tanks. Then the AmeriGas shut down their local office to the public. Recently, I had an issue with my gas logs and called AmeriGas to have a technician come out and repair the issue.
