If I could give a negative star I would. Amerigas let elderly people on auto refill run out of propane during winter weather. We were unable to use our heat, our gas stove or are gas fireplace. When we attempted to call we were placed on hold for hours. We were promised deliveries that never came. Terrible customer service. Very disappointing.

I see there are many complaints about Amerigas. We need propane, we were at 20some%, now at 3. It's winter. The delivery window is way past and the foreign call center keeps disconnecting my calls. On the phone for 2 hours yesterday, disconnected. Again today - twice disconnected. These people need to be out of business. They own the tanks, we rent them. 0 stars. Every time I need to interact with this company, it is more unpleasant than the previous time. I have had to repeat the same information to 3 or 4 different people all for them to realize they cant help me and need to send me to someone else and start the whole process over. I have sat on hold for 30 minutes to an hour each time I call. There is no urgency to help in emergencies and they do not care about their customers. Do NOT use Amerigas. Check other companies near you and I bet they are half the cost. I made numerous attempts to speak with customer service to remain a customer with them, but nobody I talked to cared to assist me with lowering my bill what so ever. I switched companies and now have a bill for $460 for them to pick up my tank. My contract said it would be much less than that, but since my contract also states they can change the price at anytime, they said too bad. I rented a home in ***********, ** for six months, an outside gas bottle aready was beside the home which fueled the fireplace. I paid Amerigas to fill the bottle one time and paid for the service. Six months later I moved out of the home. One year later I receive another bill from Amerigas for rental for the gas bottle which was not their tank to begin with, and for additional changes for $247. I had called and spoke to AmeriGas emergency line requesting critical life safety heating propane fill due to being at 5% with less than a day of heating. I was told the district is shut down due to hazardous weather conditions and the soonest they could fill will be 02/09/2026-02/16/2026. I am not surprised by the low rating that AmeriGas has received here. They bought out a local gas company and immediately ran it into the ground. I called to schedule a tank refill, the call center in ***** (apparently) gave me a 3-day window of when it would happen. They stated that I would receive an email the day prior, I did receive the email, but they were a no-show on the "scheduled" day of delivery @ $3.49 a gallon. Been a customer of ********************** for 5 years. Requested delivery through online portal when 500 gallon tank was 20 percent full on 1/24. We ran out of gas 1/31. Been calling every day trying to get tank filled but call center uninterest in helping. Still do not have a firm delivery date today 2/3. Temperatures below freezing every day. Will never do business with Amerigas again.
