Paid for treatment then was told I am not allowed to pay the full price for the doctor for assistance administering the treatment. Instead archer vet now wants me to pay for additional oral treatments. They refuse to help me administer the drug I bought from them. Contacting better business bureau. When Chris Johnson practiced this never would have happened. The clinic is impersonal and profit orientated since his retirement. Be careful what you pay for and get it in writing what they agree to provide.

Business response:

Dear Diane, we are disappointed to hear that there has been some miscommunication about the treatment plan and sorry if this has caused you any stress. Our medical director will be reaching out to you so we can make sure to get this resolved.

Not recommended. Brought my pet there, paid a premium, saw a doctor who semmed very aloof and confused, and received poor recommendations for treatment that did not work. Said they'd follow up...never did. I called severeal times to track them down, they gave more ineffective advice, and my pet remained ill. Had to pay all over again at another vet, but got great insight this time at that pet hospital. Not recommeding this place....save your money and move onto another spot that actually has it together...

They have sadly gone downhill. They lost a $250 cash payment saying it wasn't paid. They made me repay the amount in order to treat my dog that was very sick. I did. They found the money 2 days later upstairs. It doesn't even make sense to me because you pay at the time of treatment. They also spayed my dog incorrectly (I was told by the top surgeon) and then tried having us pay "only $300" to get her spayed again.

Business response:

Hello Elizabeth C., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about your disappointment with us. The essence of our values and who we are all start with patient-centric compassionate care and best-in-class service. We will always strive to provide the best care possible for our patients, and we understand that different providers will have different treatment options depending on their expertise. We wish you, and your pet continued good health.

We have been coming here since it was a small one room clinic with just dr Johnson and he is an amazing vet. Since it's grown things have changed. There is only one doctor that is competent besides dr Johnson. Dr Ashanti is amazing. The problem is they turn you away when you need them. My dog needed to be euthanized, she was suffering. They saw her the day before(paid a $700 bill) and yet they said they were too busy. I had to rush to find an emergency vet! That is wrong. They just turned my moms dog away after seeing her twic... read more

We have always taken our dogs here and seen Dr. Johnson. Was always happy. They've been bought out and care definitely suffers. My dog has been sick since August. Dr. Johnson saw her then and we got a short term fix. I called this week to bring her back in after she hadn't eaten in days or had a bowel movement and they wouldn't fit her in. I told them I was going out of town with her and we could bring her in, we were flexible. I called several times and was told sorry, were too full. Come to AZ and she ends up in the vet h... read more

Our family has been going to Archer Vet for the past 40+ years. My family treats our dogs like family and we make sure they are always taken care of. I feel totally let down by Archer Vet. This past Friday at 3:15 PM my mom called and told them that her dog Zoe was dying and she needed to bring her in. The Supervisor got on the phone and told her the Doctors were too busy to see her and to bring her to an ER Vet. My Mom pleaded with them to please let her bring Zoe and in and again they said no. She lives 5 minutes from the ... read more

This clinic has gone from great care of their patients, to chasing money. They are now more worried about the quantity of patients, opposed to the quality of care. Every time I've been there in the last year, I feel like I've experienced the "Jiffy Lube" experience in that they are trying to up sell everything. Dr. Johnson is great, but what has become of the clinic is terrible. Twice in the last 2 weeks 2 of our dogs needed urgent care and they were unable and unwilling to accommodate us. So we are moving on to the local cl... read more

Use to take all my dogs here, thought I'd give them another try. Absolutely not. Had an appointment yesterday but called to reschedule, and they claim I never had a Friday appointment. I have proof that I had an appointment via automated text messages and they claim I had no appointment. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE. Staff is rude and I'm not one to go online and rant but I've never been treated so poorly. The girl goes in the back and brings another lady to the front and she has the audacity to say "is there a problem here?... read more

I took my lab in because he was licking his paws. Saw Dr. Jo and she suggested an injection called cytopoint. Asked over and over again I this was safe and she assured me it was. Well 2 hours after Max experienced extreme diarrhea shooting out of him and smelled. Read forums from people and was shocked to find out a lot of healthy dogs died about 2 to 3 weeks after this injection. Some died after 5th injection. Vets should research their meds before commenting on it. I am not happy at all. I have had no sleep and now rea... read more
