This once used to be a great veterinary clinic but it grew too much in my opinion and now the service and treatment of the customers is pretty bad, trying to get an appointment for a sick pet is a pain...its a hit and miss with doctors some good some bad, last time I called they said Dr. Johnson was booked for a whole month, guess it was good while it lasted but I think I will be looking for a different vet

I used to come here with my dog, but after this week I would never come back. I called Thursday because my dog was in very bad health and they told me to come in on MONDAY! My dog barely survived the weekend, luckily there was a clinic opened in Chicago that ACCEPTED walk-ins. This vet clinic clearly doesn't care to save or treat dogs.

Update 2/27 The office did contact us today almost 2 weeks from the date of surgery, mind you during business hours to discuss my yelp review . This is the same office that could not respond to 3 attempts of emergency communication through the answering service at a time of crisis or follow up to check on the pet the next morning. Once again an unfortunate example of how priorities are misplaced. You decide if this is an acceptable service, for us and our remaining pets it is not.

I've had 5 of my four babies here and I loved the doctors. Since they have done their remodeling and have gotten new doctors in and out they've been very insensitive and rude. They have made my little girl bleed terribly just getting bloodwork or a nail trim. They keep jacking prices up and giving poor service. Wait times are crazy as well. You are ALWAYS getting someone new. I wanted to buy my heartworm somewhere else but need a script and they wanted me to have the place I'm getting them call for it. Crazy. These drs and... read more

I've been a long time customer of Dr. Johnson's but his practice has been going down hill for a number of years now, perhaps grew too big for what the office can manage. You definitely don't get the personalized care they once offered. Each annual visit, there are different doctors working, which provides no consistency year to year especially if your dog has on-going issues. Their support staff do not call back or explain $200+ test results (until you complain and get an actual vet on the phone and then they send you a copy... read more

Never going back. My dog was neglected and locked in a cage for 8 hours while waiting for her surgery. She got dropped off at 8 am and I didn't hear anything from Archer Vet, I had to call at 4 pm to learn my dog just got into surgery. Meanwhile prior to their instructions she hadn't eaten or had water since before 10pm that previous night. I called again at 5 to get an update and was told I could get her in an hour. I explained to the woman at the desk the situation calmly and explained I was very upset and this was unaccep... read more

My family has been coming to this practice for over 20 years. Over the course of this time, we have been nothing but please. However, things have changed over the course of the last few years. They have hired many new people. Most of which can't answer a simple question of what vaccine my dog is due for after they told me to come back. They are also relatively rude and don't care about your puppies well being. They rushed through wellness exams and the doctor left before I could ask any questions. Granted, this isn't eve... read more

Business response:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize that your recent visits have not been as expected. We do have some new staff members and will be using this as an example to better train them in the future. Which will include making sure that they ask every client if they have a doctor preference. We do try to make every effort to accommodate client preferences for doctors. During your visit, there was a newer staff member in the room with you and whose trainer should have been present with her. This also wil... read more

I made an appointment for my 8 month old puppy to get neutered, expecting his surgery to be sometime in the morning or afternoon. I was told to not give him any food or water from 10pm the night before. When I dropped him off, I called the clinic back at 2pm and he had still not gone into surgery. After calling a second time at 4:30, he had STILL not gotten the surgery, mind you he had not been given ANY food from the previous night so he was starving and thirsty. This clinic is the worst clinic I have ever been to, I am in ... read more

Business response:

We are sorry about your experience yesterday at Archer Veterinary Clinic. We did try to call and apologize but were not given the opportunity to explain. There was a dog with an emergency uterine infection that came in that needed to be addressed right away because it can be a life threatening situation. Unfortunately this caused our surgeon to be behind in his surgeries. We do mention in the surgery letter that you receive that "Surgeries are performed sometime after 9:00 a.m and the last procedures are started between... read more

The veterinarian and staff and competent and cordial. The bad review is because they are consistently very late in seeing patients. Our most recent experience will be our last. We called at 6:25 p.m. to see if they were on time for our 6:30 appointment. They said to arrive at 6:45. We arrived at 6:45 and had not seen anyone when we left at 7:25. This is a recurring theme with Archer. I have even had them be 30 minutes late when I was one of the first appointments of the day.
