Arocon's Big Deal promised "Attic Inspection, Plus an Insulation and Ventilation Analysis." I bought this deal thinking they would do a comprehensive home analysis of attic/insulation/ventilation and provide some sort of report on the same for future planning. What I instead got from them was an estimate on how much it would cost to re-do the insulation in my attic. Our goal with this Angie's List Big Deal is to provide a valuable analysis of the insulation and ventilation as in pertains predominately to the exterior components of your house (Roofing, Siding, Windows, etc.). It is a newer deal that follows up on our previous Big Deals, The $99 Roof Tune up and the Pipe Collar Deal, both of which have received a lot of positive customer feedback. Our team is in the process of reaching out to the customer to make sure that they receive the value that they deserve.
They came out quickly to give me an estimate and were very responsive in getting me scheduled. I was nervous about having the roof repaired, because it's an historic house with a weatheredcedar roof, and I didn't want the repairs to look "patchy." It looks great! The roofer showed me a picture on his phone that he took of the completed work. They replaced the whole ridge line of shingles, and it blends in nicely with the rest of the roof. We have a rather complicated roof line, due to a complicated addition, but the crew did a beautiful job of handling the complex job and all the details that went with it. I got estimates from four different companies: Arocon's estimator was the first to arrive (we had to wait 1 - 2 weeks for other estimators), and he offered the best price. (Actually, it came out to the best price with the 10 percent Angie's list discount that they were offering when we got our bid. They came and removed 3 layers of old roofing. They repaired old damaged wood off of back porch roof and reattached my gutters. Then replaced roof. I am very pleased with the quality of work that was performed and the time it took them to do it....in one day! They also repaired some very damaged stucco on the front of my house, in which, I am also very pleased with. I feel that they went far and beyond what the job called for to make it right. They replaced around twenty five broken tiles on my slate roof and enclosed my soffit and fascia. They were very prompt and professional. Slate Tile Replacement

One of the colors we chose wasn't available a month later closer to install which postponed the project by another month. Really the delay was not a problem for us, but it was a long time from contract signing to complete sign-off on finished work. Quality of workmanship seemed excellent. Ran into two problems--facing near door blocked ease of opening, and when repaired, had loose nails. Also one window wouldn't open out, again blocked by new product. In late July or early August 2013, I called and made an appointment for someone to come inspect the roof and prepare a bid. Chris came and was great. He was on time to the minute. He climbed up on the roof, took photos, and carefully explained the scope of the work he recommended. Since the price was better than the other credible bid, I accepted the contract.
