The food was delicious, the service impeccable. However, we were not told until our check was presented that there would be a 4% service charge if we used a credit card. We don't normally carry that much cash (north of $160 for the bar and restaurant tab because we use our credit cards. If they have started this new policy since the last time we visited, it should be disclosed at the time the reservation is made. We will not return to Arthur's and it had been a favorite over the years.
I was underwhelmed with the experience at Arthur’s. It was a letdown. The service was absolutely horrible. We were there an hour before even placing our order and by that time our server had only visited the table twice, once for menus (which we weren’t given upon seating) and the other for a drink order (which was about 40 mins after seating). We went during Restaurant Week with some high expectations; unfortunately they were not met. The restaurant has some nice decor but the booth was very tight and seemed like they had a lot of tables crammed in the floor space in the middle of the main dining area. We both had filet and found them to be a bit below average for a nice steakhouse, they seemed to taste more like a pot roast than a good steak. The rest of the meal was fair but nothing special. Needless to say we will not be returning.
Over an hour wait after food was ordered. Quality of my steak was poor. Was not previously aware that you a credit card fee would be added to the bill. Very dark in side you will need your cellphone light to see the menu and some areas.
First visit back to Arthur’s since March 2019, which was a very good visit. Dinner for 4 on Friday night was extremely disappointing. Caesar salad was bland and dry. All 4 filets were overcooked and the quality of meat was terrible. Not at all like our previous visit. To add insult to injury, management passed on their 3.25% merchant credit card service charge to our bill. Our server was very attentive and was tipped according. Will not be returning!
This resturant has the most beautiful atmosphere. The service was nice, but the food was unexceptional. Disappointing.
We went to celebrate my birthday and it was a horrible experience. First they never acknowledge my special celebration in any way. I asked to make the pork chops spicy and was told that the last time the chef used Cajun spices, the meal was returned for being too salty. Not sure what that had to do with us as you would think the chef learned from previous experience and would use less! So, I ended up with two bland rubbery pork chops. Probably grand in its day, but the food was sloppy, wine list outdated, and service was sad and tired.
Server was not the best; very quick, had to 'flag' him down a couple of times. Proceeded to spill a drink right next to me (sticky liquor) and didn't say a word but 'oops'. Came back minutes later with another drink and wipes up the spilled drink with a napkin....still wet, sticky and on my trousers. Not another word was said....very disappointing
