I am updating my review recommendation as I do sometimes with other reviews I do on other people. As I go along, I have a tendency to change things depending on the continued service I receive. I deleted off my last recommendation in order to update. I recommend them for certain things, yet not recommend them for others. You can take your pick any future patients reading this. Here is the update:
UPDATE: September 14th, 2018
They knew I was in a lot of pain in recent years with my teeth, I first went to them on August 2nd, but wouldn't do a single thing with me on treating me for ANYTHING until I came up with full payment for the treatment plan. Usual for ANY dentist I have called and came into contact with for trying to get help when money is low. I blame those other dentists for why my teeth continued to rot in my head. Now half of them are having to be taken out, and I will love it when I FINALLY get them out of my head. At Aspen, I owed a few thousand dollars and couldn't find anyway to pay that amount, no matter what financing they offered. I had some nifty ways to get lots of discounts, they rung up the price again, and I was able to pay. Suddenly they loved me and want to help me again, right after I paid the first appointment was finally made. I contacted the corporate office more than once by email telling them all about the insensitivity of dentists and their greediness and they needed to have more compassion on us poor people who had serious issues. I left LONG emails. I am hoping they actually read all of those. My issue is serious. However, when actually in an appointment the people are great and very professional. But making appointments sometimes can be weeks in the making, while other appointments are quicker.
I recommend them for the quality of their service during the appointment, their expertise, and Dr Feilin has a wonderful bedside manner, however, they do need new office manager. One who cares how much pain you're in to actually do something in getting you in when she knows you been in pain for long time, without requiring thousands first before any treatment is done on you.
I also had abscessed teeth for a few weeks, besides all the bad and decayed ones that will finally be removed at the end of next week. One abscess seems to have grown back on the left side of my mouth after they removed that tooth this past Monday. I finally got to talk directly to the dentist over the phone last weekend and she got me in this past Monday morning and removed the abscessed teeth while we were waiting to remove the other ones next week. I made the appointment for the extractions on August 22nd and the soonest they could get me in was September 20th, it now moved to September 21st but the dentist had a very good excuse and it only one day difference.
I had to wait awhile for to get this appointment for all the extractions so they could have my dentures made. The wait is annoying when I been living with these bad ones in recent years and just want them out and I'm fighting infections until they do. You have to talk directly to Dr. Feilin if you want a matter addressed in a timely fashion if you have a serious issue and the staff make you wait a long, long time to get in for an appointment. Specify to talk to Dr Feilin about the situation if you think your situation is being overlooked or delayed by staff, just go straight to her, don't give up until you talk to her if they are making you wait to get in when a serious issue comes up.
Because of all the greedy dentists out there, I continued to let my teeth go bad. And look at the torture I went through in recent years because of it. I found Aspen to be cheaper than the ones around here, but the bill does add up fast when you have major work needing done and dental insurance, no matter where you get it, doesn't cover much when major work needs done. I used a particular dental discount card I found out they take there through Aetna, besides my insurance. I saved LOTS and finally was able to figure out how to pay the rest on my end.
