AWFUL EXPERIENCE HERE AT THE MIDTOWN RALEIGH LOCATION WITH OFFICE MAMAGER LAUREN? or LAURI? Just extremely unprofessional and a huge waste of energy and time dealing with this office.
The Avance Care Midtown office in Raleigh midtown was a new location I was willing to try. However, due to a few repeated unprofessional phone calls from the office manager here, named Lauren? or Lauri? I have decided to take my care elsewhere. They are not capable of handling basic services. I have chosen not to subject myself to this very very bad office setting. Dr. Rounds is Great! However his front desk staff are very inappropriate. When I asked a question the staff member told me that my question was above her pay grade. They have conversations between themselves while patients are waiting which are inappropriate for the workplace. When you call the front desk they are rude and inconsiderate, as if you are taking up their time. Not as if you are the one paying their salary. You are only as good as the staff you choose. I cannot say enough about how exceptional Dr. Prakken was as a physician. His compassion, expertise, and genuine care made every visit reassuring, and I deeply miss his presence in my medical care. In stark contrast, my experience with his replacement, Dr. Marks, has been nothing short of a disaster. This new doctor’s approach is shockingly dismissive and reckless. My experience to see BenJohnson was awesome. But what I do not like is not being able to pick up the phone to be seen the same day.Therfore I have to go to Duke Urgent Care when I'm not feeling well. I will also like to acknowledge that I was ask if I needed help in filling my info on tablet. This was a plus because I was there when another patient needed help and another patient assisted her. So that's better. I did mention it to Mr Johnson
Horrible. Doctor had no personality and read from a script. I know I scored high on the GAD 7 and she didn’t mention anything about the results. Then she. Noticed a cyst on my chest and said nothing. Then she literally read from a script. She didn’t ask anything about me or how I feel. It was horrible. I arrived at 2:59pm. Called back at 3:36pm and walked out the door at 4::02. Never again.

I’m in the ER again for chest pain and lupus flare ups, yet Avance Care still has not sent over my referral to a Rheumatologist. I called the rheumatologist and they said Avance Care sent it over on May 20th, 2025, but Avance Care missed some information so now they will have to redo it all over again. No communication at all. Advance Care, Midtown Raleigh, saw David Sanjurjo, NP. Not my usual primary but there was an appt available. Urine test confirmed UTI and Sanjurjo prescribed an antibiotic. At checkin I told the receptionist of my correct pharmacy since old one permanently closed. After leaving I kept checking in with the pharmacy, wanting to start the tx. No scrip sent.
