This is the place to take your pet! Everyone here is so nice and helpful. The vets and vet techs really take the time to explain what they are doing, looking for and have found. In addition to being a great and knowledgeable group of people they are also extremely thorough. The exams at Back Bay are comprehensive and their follow up is fantastic. We have had a few wonderful experiences with this clinic over the past few weeks. First, they made a home visit for our cats' annual checkup and were able to get through the whole thing with cats that usually don't like vets. Then we took our cat McFly in for an emergency and the service was PHENOMENAL. My dog has received wonderful care at Back Bay Vet for the past 5 years. Dr. Torres is great and it is obvious she really cares about the animals there. Their new location is nice and clean and I never have had to wait too long for my dog to be seen. They have always been accommodating for same-day appointments if my dog seems sick and I think they are honest about when care is necessary and when it is okay to wait and see. My wife and I take our cats here and are extremely satisfied with their service. Both the medical staff and the office staff spend plenty of time talking with you to answer your questions in a helpful way. After moving out of Boston, we tried out a new vet near our place in the suburbs. We compared the two, and it was an easy decision to remain with Back Bay.
Just like other reviews I have to say that this place is pricey. But what do you expect from a prime location on Newbury St. The office is also always very clean and smells nice! The service here is excellent! When I got my puppy, I was definitely a worried mom and called them every other day with questions. They were always extremely polite and answered all my questions without trying to rush me off the phone. I started bringing my cat Oslo here after he started losing weight at an alarming rate. The very friendly staff took us right away. My Dr. was extremely compassionate and patient with me explaining everything in detail since I was so upset. She explained what she thought could be wrong with Oslo. She gave me an estimate and told me if I felt more comfortable we could do some of the testing in case we found the cause in the first round it wouldn't cost as much. My cat Bella and I miss Back Bay Vet so much! They were her very first vet and she loved going there! Back Bay Vet is super clean, always running on time, and the people there are so wonderful. Dr. Torres and Dr. Bendock took such great care of Bella. They did thorough exams and we never felt rushed. Bella had a nasty cold and stomach issue when I first adopted her and they nursed her through both without emptying my wallet. By far the nicest and cleanest Vet in the Back Bay!
I consider this my "emergency" vet for when something goes very awry (acute onset) and I don't have time to wait for an take my cats to an appointment in the suburbs. I find that the vets and staff here are very accommodating and unlike at Angell Memorial where there is a major attempt to "sell" more expensive services, Back Bay will tell you all your options for your pet and work very hard to start with minimal costs, and minimally invasive treatments. When helping to care for a senior dog, senior dog issues come up. Dr Torres and the rest of the team at Back Bay were fantastic every step of the way. They knew Bailey and her whole sordid, sock eating past. You could tell they really cared about her. They offered good, solid advice and different treatment options.
