I am not a writer of reviews but this place was seriously fantastic. They greeted me with coffee upon entering and were so kind and friendly. Everyone there from the vet tech to the receptionist to the vet were wonderful. The vet was very knowledgeable and let me know her thoughts on what she would ideally like to see done for my cat. She left and brought in an itemized list of each procedure showing me the costs and the total cost of everything combined. By far the best vet EVER! My guy (a shiba inu) has been going to Back since he was a puppy...almost 5 now. I originally thought a vet on Newbury street was excessive but two days after I got Milo as a new puppy he got sick. It was a Sunday and as my first dog I panicked. I was in NH visiting friends, calling every vet I could look up. All of them were closed on Sunday or would be by the time I got back to Boston. We have been taking our dog (a french bulldog) to Back Bay Vet since we moved to Boston two years ago. They were recommended to us by a friend. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and I feel like they listen very well to any concerns we're having. They are reliable, and can typically fit us in for appointments quickly. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about bully breeds and their unique needs. I would recommend Back Bay Vet to everyone!
The vets and technicians are so incredibly helpful and patient when dealing with my anxious kitty and her aggressive behavior during the visits (I swear she is not like that at home, she just really hates the vet...). Dr. Torres in particular was extremely helpful when I was preparing for a transatlantic move with my Cleopatra, and helped me try out a variety of different sedatives to use for the trip.
I am not a client here, but the animal shelter where I volunteer works directly with Back Bay Vet. This office provides a discount for services for homeless animals while they wait to be adopted. I often bring animals over to the vet from the shelter as part of my volunteer work and the staff have been wonderful to me and the shelter animals. Hooray for their support and care.
Just brought in my puppy Dakota for her second set of shots and her first official visit to Back Bay Vet; she received her first set of shots while still with the breeder and we brought her once to Back Bay before to familiarize herself with the environment, which I recommend doing. Unlike any other, it's the human element! I've been a client of Back Bay Vet for a number of years. From the front desk, to their technicians, Veterinarians on staff, I have been repeatedly impressed with this office. The compassion that they show, not only for my animals (which is paramount to me), but also to their human owners is unparalleled in any other office I have been to or have been able to find. I just took my Pug here as we just moved from NYC to Boston. The building is very nice, a gorgeous brownstone on Newbury! Treats in the pale outside was a nice touch. The office is incredibly clean and welcoming. Dr. Jou explained everything about my dogs dental procedure which was then reiterated with questions with one of their friendly vet tech's. This place is fantastic. I'd like to start by saying their prices are very comparable to any other vet in the Boston area. Angell actually quoted us a higher price for an operation. They are extremely professional, educated and above all courteous. They really treat you well and take excellent care of your pet.
