What a wonderful group of people! I felt so comfortable there and more importantly my Lou felt relaxed! I will suggest this vet to anyone who needs one. Yes It is expensive but isn't everything in Boston?
Just moved to the area and I was so glad to find this great vet for my kitties. My cat is a sweetheart but can become a bit huffy at the vet, so I was worried they would be afraid to handle him. They were so gentle with him while still getting the examination done, and my cat was calm and cooperative. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Love love love this place. As an extremely overprotective mother of two kitties, Back Bay Vet has never failed me. I just took them yesterday for a sick visit and woke up to a voicemail asking how they were doing today.... Who does that!!!! So impressed. I treat my cats like family and so do they. I have a one year old Yorkie and I am admittedly obsessed with him. After seeing the team here for a check-up I learned he needed to have several teeth extracted. Out of fear and continued work scheduling problems I continually delayed the appointment...(I finally went in after a member of the team called me to ask me to stop wasting their time...ugh/embarrassing). Our little Charly can be quite the fussy patient but even she doesn't mind coming here! The doctors, vet techs, and front desk people are all wonderful. You can also get in if it's an emergency, which in our case, happens more than it needs to... A great place to call your pet's vet! :)
I have never brought my pet here but I foster feral cats until they can be adopted and one of my recent ferals had to have 1 claw on each paw removed (he's a polydactyl) because they were causing pressure issues. When I couldn't reach my vet to ask a question I came onto yelp to find another good vet and without ever having paid a single dollar to this facility they were happy to talk on the phone and give me advice on the e-collar and how to make sure the paws were properly cared for! I have two vets in the family (in other states) so I know a good vet and a good hospital when I see one. BBV is one of the best around. First of all, I also happen to own a business nearby that has a very similar model as BBV - very high service, very high quality. But, I can tell you that rents are extraordinarily high in this part of town. AND, if you want the best staff, you have to pay them better than your competitors. We just moved into the Back Bay neighborhood and a friend recommended BBVC so my boyfriend and I stopped by to check it out. The clinic is in a great location on Newbury street and they always have dog treats out front. When we dropped in, the receptionist was super friendly and answered all of our questions. Their facilities are extremely nice - not too cramped, which is amazing considering where they're at. The best and most convenient (right on newbury) vet clinic ive been to in boston!! they are so sweet and gentle with my lovebug puppies. You can tell they clearly care about animals and are well staffed and knowledgeable. The office is clean, the receptionist friendly, and the prices fair. This is the place in Beantown to trust with your furry friend!
