I had an awesome refinance experience with Better right from the best rate to closing costs to time to close. My team (Roberto, Scotty and Derek) worked on every aspect keeping me well informed on how things were progressing at every stage. The online tasks tracking experience was super easy and friendly. Moreover it gives great level of transparency. I would definitely recommend Better.

I just closed on my house and used Better for my mortgage. This is my first time buying a house so I don't have a lot to compare it to but my experience with them was absolutely fluid. Someone on the team that was assigned to me was always available whenever I needed them. The website design was flawless and I really enjoyed the task system. We obtained our first mortgage to buy a house in 2017 and refinanced it in 2019, all through Better.com. The experience the first time was better than the experience with the refinance because for whatever reason the numbers in the system messed up (bug, I hope they fixed already... and the only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5), what we signed for was not the same that was displayed on the website. This has been a horrible experience. I question the integrity of this company. I had a short timeline to close on my loan and gave Better Mortgage the complete synopsis of my situation. After 1 day of reviews, they said we could make it happen. 4 weeks in to the process (after I'd incurred lots of costs including appraisal fees), Better Mortgage told me there were lending rules that wouldn't allow me to get the loan unless I borrowed $160,000 more to pay off another loan. Demand that they inform you who could purchase your mortgage. I was trying to escape ***** ****** After getting my refinance with them, they went behind my back and sold it back to **.

Sellers and Buyers be ware!!!! Do not use them as a lender!!! Your closing and purchase process will be significantly delayed and you will incur those costs. Their inability to close a loan in an exceptable time frame has cost my clients thousands of dollars in fees associated with moving from one state to another. They were unable to close on the purchase of their new home as a result. There were multiple delays in closing due to missed timelines and lack of professionalism. Better has a done a great job with their cool interface and their branding. The service has a lot of room to be desireed. Their response time is extremely bad. Every single lender offered better rates than these guys. I sent them a final quote to match and they couldn’t because it wouldn’t make business sense to get into a deal like that which is somewhat understandable but questions why.
