We went to black bear diner arvin, ca. This was very bad experience. The wait was minimal about 10 mins. We sat down and took only a few minutes to get served then ordered food. From the time that we sat down until the time our food arrived (family of 4) we waited for 1 hour and 10 mins. The food was ok although there were alot of flies. Terrible service Way to long a wait Customers walking out
In 1996 my wife and I were in the town of Shasta and saw this neat little place - Black Bear Diner by name, so we decided to breakfast at that location. It was absolutely wonderful, so I was elated that you had put in a store, first in Bakersfield and then late one in Arvin. My wife has since passed away, but I frequented the Bakersfield location on numerous and have ALWAYS found the employees and food great. This was the Black Bear Diner at the TA truckstop on Laval Rd at the base of the grapevine. This was a horrible dining experience for all 5 of us. First of all we were seated in the large booth in the corner by the windows, I turned to look out the window and the ledge of the window was full of dead flies and trash and so was the area behind us where the bear displays were. I can’t give you more than 2 stars and that’s being generous in my opinion. The waitress (Carol pretty sure THATS was her name) was awesome. Recommended the Bear’s Benedict California bacon. It was really good. The problem I had at your establishment was seeing one of the waitresses very very VERY carefully take a chip of a plate of food and eat it while another waitress held the plate. My party of 6 was sat at the corner booth and the back of the couter top attached to the seats were covered in ants. These ant were eating flys and ended up all over my kids and my food. We told the server and she said sorry and walked away. We moved our selfs to another seat and then asked for the manager. He said this was a known problem and he would call pest control in the morning. He never went and cleaned the booth or had anyone else do it. He walked away as soon as he could. It is disturbing to see two employees arguing over food and your female employee Tosha yelling at the kitchen crew, and using foul language.I had such great hope for this diner yet after seeing how the employees interact with one another I will never visit another one and I will let my friends and family know NOT to visit any locations. Thank you for your time but not the awful service that Black Bear has to offer.
Very soggy Rueben
Took over 30 mins for food to be delivered. Then only 3 of 4 were delivered. Server tried to make things right.
