Don't even want to give it one star, it was disgustingly terrible. Had fish fry on a Friday night and couldn't even eat it, it was so terrible. Ordered it to take out and there was no fritters on the plate, the tartar sauce taste like nothing more than hot mayonnaise. So both my husband's and my plate went straight to the garbage. Total waste of almost $50!! This was at the Black Bear in Turlock, CA

This Diner is dirty. Dirty. Ants on our table and asked to be moved.. Not very attentive or friendly. Disappointed with every aspect of place. Will not come back to this diner.

I've been to almost every single Black Bear Diner location in Southern California, and this is the only location that doesn't allow me to order the chicken fried steak omelette which is a menu option during certain times of the year. So instead I have to do the "build your own omelette" and get charged about seven dollars more every time I order it. Every single other location I've been to allows me to order it. Over priced & food not all that. My $15.99 combo breakfast ended up costing $33.67. Side of hash browns $6.99, side wheat toast $4.39 & coffee $3.99. The "server" just set plates & drinks on one side & expected us to pass it out. I had to ask her to deliver the hot coffee to the person on the other side so we didn't have to pass it by the babies. Was craving their Tri tip dip but wasn't able to even order. Came in Sunday was seated and was forgotten. Waited for about 15mins and walked out. While walking out seen the girls in the back corner just hanging out talking. Very disappointing.

Breakfast 8-19-25 with sister- DO NOT EAT there -FILTHY. Service at this place is horrendous! They "dropped" their prices probably to entice new customers since their employees are so horrible, they are probably losing customers ! Food is ok, but we were there almost 2 hours ! Took at least 20 min to take our drink order. We asked for a coffee refill and 30 minutes later , it finally came. My family and I visited the diner today and I don't think we will return anytime soon again. The fish and chicken strips were extremely hot and fries tasted old and cold. The ambiance was clean and cute with all bear motifs. Server was very attentive. Food preparation and quality needs improvement.
