Black Bear continues to be a to to place for reasonably priced food and breakfast all day. The food is what you expect from a chain cafe that's in the league of others like Norms. Ample parking and daily specials in addition to an extensive menu. Staff friendly and efficiently assisting patrons in a comfortable environment.

After our time at the park we decided to come to Black Bear Diner around 8:30 PM. We were greeted and told we would be attended soon. Our Waiter Mike greeted us with so much uplifting energy and made us feel comfortable as if we were in our own home. He was very funny, understanding, and I could not complain about his customer service skills. Came for the first time directly after our flight landed in the morning. Thankfully we were seated immediately, but our food did take a little while to arrive. Food portions were a little big for me, but it was good and the prices were decent. Our waitress was so sweet and I loved the theme of the diner, it felt cozy and inviting.

Black bear Downey never disappoints. If you are looking for comfort food, this is your place. We like to come during the week in the evening. We love the patty melt and fries. They have great summer specials, which include burgers, and breakfast 2x2x2 for $10.99. Biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak. It's all good. I did have the fish and chips and that was just okay. Mike was an amazing server and had such a positive personality that could boost whatever mood you were in. Me and my family all agreed that he's the best server we've ever had. Went just before closing and he welcomed us in and let us stay however long we wanted. Of course ate fast as we wanted the workers to go home. But we're definitely going to this Black Bear again because of Mike.

Great service at this location, the food is always great and comes with filling portions, this is my breakfast go to spot. Mike always comes with the good energy and provides a pleasant experience every time and always makes my family & I feel welcomed. If you get Mike as your sever, I bet money you'll have a delightful experience!

Service is always good, food is also good except this time my food had a little extra, it came with hair right when they delivered it to my table..no time for the waiter to deny it, they swapped my plate asap without apologizing just took it and replaced it, still ate it but after eating i felt sick, just because it was stuck in my mind. Double check your food before your first bite.

Food was great and ambiance was great! Everyone was nice and the restaurant was so cozy. Mike, our server, is the main reason for the 5 stars for amazing service :)

The food was pretty good and the service was great. The only bad thing I ran into was that the creamer they gave me was expired and rotten. It kinda ruined my appetite a bit. I asked for another coffee and she brought me more creamer from a newly opened box and it was the same thing again. I don't know if they check their expiration dates or use the creamer that expired last first but its something they need to pay more attention too.
