We came in here around April with our granddaughter. We were seated immediately but had to wait for our food awhile. At first, the waitress told us that we was able to get catfish buffet and steak slightly early before 4 (we came in at 3pm) so we waited for 30/40 mins before we would order that but then was told we will have to wait till after 4 pm to do that and we did it anyway with abit of disappointment. We had a bad dining experience when this diner first opened with the service , wait time after we were seated and not getting the orders right and cold food. We made the mistake of trying it again 2 months later. Everything we tried to order, they were out of. The server said I am so embarrassed, we are out of ALOT of things. We settled for a bowl of chili ,a bisquit (because they were out of cornbread) and a salad. We will not be going again and would not recommend this place to anyone. Staff & service was excellent. No mistake on our big order, however, food was so so. Perhaps it's bc my family I is familiar with this diner. One in Cali & the other in Colorado Springs. We had breakfast, my chicken fried steak was cold for just coming out the kitchen, our hash browns were not crispy & the other dishes were bland. Except for corn beef, it was tasty. I heard such great things about this dinner. Myself and some friends 1st visited on a Saturday which was pretty busy, our waitress was nice. It took awhile to get our food but for cooked to order food we expected a wait, however after a 30 minute wait we received cold food, which was breakfast items. Food was sent back and it was meh . I figured since it was a pretty busy day I came back with my family the next day for dinner and wouldn't you know 2 out of 4 plates were cold food, wrong orders and half done bacon. Gave this place a few chances and every time they have messed up my order or didn't give me everything I ordered and paid for. Maybe this place is okay for dining in but def not for takeout. You will be robbed every time.

First time at Black Bear and the first thing I want to say is our server was AMAZING! Now to get to the food.... it was bad! I ordered the 2 egg breakfast over medium, homemade biscuit, red potatoes, and thick cut bacon. The eggs were snotty, the homemade biscuit was dry as a sole of a shoe, the red potatoes were not cooked and bland as all get up (and they had what looked like peppers in it), and the bacon tasted like it was just sitting in the back in a pan. My brother and I went to try this place out for the first time. The placed looks clean and gave a cozy vibe. We sat down and had our drinks and food ordered. Our server was very inattentive he brought us the soups that came with our meals first and forgot the spoons. I was very mindful and thought he must be new or something so it wasn't a big deal. Love the food but the staff could use some more training on customer service. Jo who worked the checkin has zero personality, she's very intimidated and never smiled once during our 45 min. wait. She should not be the first person to greet you. She was very rude and not friendly what so ever. Other than her the rest of the staff was great!! We really liked Justin!! He's uplifting, very personable and fun to talk to.

Food was okay, kinda pricey for the portions. Our waitress went MIA and our food didn't come out all at once. We're sticking with Cracker Barrel.
