WARNING, waited 50 minutes, food came out cold. Asked for cheddar on my eggs, eggs were warm, cheddar looks like it came straight out of the fridge and was still cold to the touch. Biscuits came out smashed and in pieces?! Little pricey. Please be warned, every single time you eat here you will wait 35-50 minutes for your food and add that onto the seating waiting as well. A 1 hour meal quickly turns into a 3 hour event. They need to fix this issue. I will never come back here.
Today, a friend of mine and I had lunch. We were intrigued by the Carribean offerings and we both chose the Carribean Chicken platter with sweet potato fries, a chicken patty covered in a salsa, and cole slaw. I asked the server if there was any "heat" on the plate because my friend is spice sensitive. She said there was and I asked her to make her platter with no salsa, but to give it to me on the side. First time ordering from Black Bear Diner, food was warm, at best, no utensils nor condiments in the bag. Rating; Chz eggs -1 Chkn sausage-2 Grits-1 French toast-2 I was definitely disappointed
I like the food but the service stinks!! I've been there a few time thinking it would be different but nope. Service is bad.
Review to be updated on 2nd visit. Tried it. Chicken fried steak did NOT appear to be homemade/restaurant-made, but rather purchased frozen and flash fried. Green beans looked incredible, however, it came with a side of fly. Regret not taking a pic of it as it seemed to be very comfortable. Our favorite has always been the chicken taco salad. Most of the time we eat at the restaurant as their servers are attentive and efficient. We ordered take out this time. What a joke! Chicken was not cut up, just 2-3" cuts, couldn't find the refried beans but husband said he found a small amount on the bottom. The salad was reduced by at least 1/3 since we last ordered. Went here for breakfast. Waited 45 minutes for a subpar breakfast. They have been great in the past. However, today the potatoes were both burnt and the big ones were raw. My eggs Benedict had one poached egg that had been cut in half instead of two and was missing the tomatoes. It was a miserable experience. The waitress never offered to have it fixed, but she did take it off of our bill.
Good service bad food. Good made me sick for two days and coffee was horrible. Don't recommend at all stay away
I've been to about five different black bear restaurants and this has the worst service the food's good but their service or waitresses I don't know I've been here 5 or 6 times and it's gotten worse management should get after the staff
