Outstanding food. The price is right. Portions are big enough that even I couldn’t finish half of my food. I had a tri tip sandwich with fries. I can’t wait to try breakfast and dinner eventually. I’ll wait for my food coma to reside. It’s that good.
The first time we went my husband's burger was under cooked. It was completely raw on the inside, only seared on the outside. The manager replaced it and we took it home,because by the time it came out again we (myself and four children) had completely finished eating. We decided to try it again because our daughter wanted to go. This time when we were seated the hostess nonchalantly said "your server will be here at some time". Not very professional. Although the food is very good the waitstaff and management is incompetent! I’ve been here about 7-8 times and only maybe twice have I had good service. Refills are rare occasion.... I’ve literally sat down for 10 minutes waiting to be served had managers stare at me and do absolutely nothing until I ask them to get me a waiter.... Jennifer and Kennedy are the only two good waiters/waitresses I’ve ever had here. We’ve been about 7 times because it’s so local. Although we love the food, every time we have gone the service is awful. No one acknowledges you when you walk in and as you are waiting to be served once seated and throughout your time there...which is usually a while, you can see staff just sitting talking it up. Sucks. This place would be awesome if staff customer service was better. Starts with management. IF you go ask for Ricky if he’s still there and I believe her name is Jennifer (the only 2 that have been good).
Extremely upset & disappointed. We just left. Went to pay our bill & credit card machine was down. Was told only cash. We had none. Sat & waited over 15 mins for it to be fixed. Offered to pay with check as I am pregnant & sick & my husband & I just wanted to leave. Lady asked manager & they said okay. In the process of writing check 2 people came up to pay bill & only had card. Manager spoke to both of them & said ‘it’s on us, you don’t have to pay’. Manager never even spoke to us. We went at 9:45am on a Sunday & waited over an hour for 3. Everything we ordered was bland. I salted & re salted everything and it was still tasteless. The huge biscuits they serve that look delicious, were dense & tasteless. The best part of the meal was the ranch salad dressing that came with my husbands side salad. (I’m pregnant & have a thing for ranch). The wait was long, the food was bad & I wouldn’t return.
Had a very disappointing experience about a week ago. Excellent server but the food was terrible. I sent and email to info@blackbear and have yet to receive a response....which kinda added to the whole terrible experience!
The food is good. Love the cornbread! I was a little surprised at the attitude of one of the hosts that seats you. We told her we’d love a booth but if not we just didn’t want a little table. A regular table was fine. She sat two couples ahead of us. Then comes over & says “all we have is a small table, is that ok?” I thought “really”. So I said no.
