We have been to the Black Bear Diner several times since they opened in Newberg and never had anything but a great experience! For those who complained about there being empty tables, but still a wait time... I would find it more annoying to be seated and not waited on since they didn't have enough staff, than waiting longer to be seated. This is my 3rd time here at this location. I frequent the one in Beaverton and was very excited for one in Newberg. I was completely disappointed both times previously but figured I would give it one more shot. This is by far the worst visit. They ignored us for 20 minutes, we had to ask for someone to bring us drinks, 20 min later still no drinks, I had to catch a waitress after being here an hour to ask her to take our order! Parking lot was jammed so I knew it may be a while. Hostess said 5 minutes to a table. Was about 20. Crowded. Got a table. Was another 30 minutes to order and get food. Was average at best. Cost was okay. My wife didn't feel well a few hours after eating. Connected? Maybe. Go there again. Maybe.

I was there yesterday, the food was ok, but I find it strange that the tables are not set up with silver Ware. I had to ask for a knife, he only brought 1 knife there was 2 of us. I think all tables need to have a spoon, fork and knife. Should never have to ask or wait for such items. The prices are too high for Newberg, but that's my opinion. The eggs are small , for the price they should be serving large to extra large eggs. I'm not a fan of the menu it's hard to read not customer friendly. I think it needs a new man... read more
