Had a date night with my Husband, we wanted to try some place new so we decided on Black Bear Diner. Took about 10 to 15 minutes to be seated despite the empty booths and tables. The waitress was very nice. I ordered a rib eye steak-medium rare, mashed potatoes, season veggies-squash, Brussels sprouts and carrots- and a salad. First my salad was drowned in balsamic dressing. It was ok, the food is not cooked the same way, it must be because they have different cooks, the waitress was nice but brought coffee and no spoon or cream for it, I had to ask ...
Food was good, but the given wait time was almost tripled. Many times we were told we were next and still waited through them calling multiple folks ahead of us. We visited the Orem, UT store. It was our first visit to Black Bear Diner.

We have been to other Black Bear Diners in Utah but I highly doubt I will ever be back to the Orem location. Our family started a tradition of going to Black Bear for breakfast for the 4th of July. With the holiday we understand that it will be busy. I called on Saturday before (the 4th was on Monday) and asked if they did reservations. The person said that they only do for parties over 10. When we went here at eight at night it took forever to get our waiter to take our order .my daughters burger was burned , my scrambled eggs in my breakfast bowl were undercooked . My husband ordered all you can eat fish and we waited for twenty minutes before we saw our waiter again to order more , then it was burned . We were all very disappointed and when we told the manager about it she just said "oh sorry, but if you want to give a good comment on your waiter he can get a gift card for himself "
