Would give 0 stars if I could. Black Bears New Year resolution should be to act like the care about their jobs or customers. There were probably 10 clean empty tables and 10 dirty empty tables. Yet there was a WAIT! No one was actively trying to clean off the tables, it was like they couldn't care less about getting people seated and making money. 3 people in the time we waited to be seated came up to the host and said "we are leaving". We love black bear diner, but our experience tonight wasn't good. The service was good, but the food was wrong in so many ways. My side of fruit was hot and dry, the Hollandaise sauce was broken and the poached eggs were overhard. The fat on my husbands steak hadnt been rendered, the country potatoes did not taste fresh. Won't be going back to the particular black bear anytime soon.

We love black bear diner, but our experience tonight wasn't good. The service was good, but the food was wrong in so many ways. Sadly, this was the absolute worst experience we have ever had, with this restaurant chain. From the poor service, to the missed orders and undercooked and over cooked food. The restaurant was not busy, so the service should have been spot on. There were employees doing nothing, while the hostess/cashier was trying to clean tables and close out tickets. While telling customers there was a 15 minute wait time for her to clean tables. Missing cheese from cheeseburgers, raw tri-tip, when ordered well done and then missing side ... read more

Terrible!!! After a 15 minute wait even though there was plenty of available tables, we were escorted to a dirty table. The hostess left my wife with the dish cloth to finish wiping up the table after the previous guests. Other than having our water refilled once, our drinks were never serviced after the initial drink. Then came the food-undercooked tri-tips, cheese-less cheeseburger and chicken fried steak that was not cooked well, however hash browns were cooked beyond edible. My husband and I went Friday at 3pm. I really wanted some rare prime rib. It was supposed to start at 4pm, but they said I could order it. Being early I was sure I could get a rare cut. I don't know how they cook the meat, but it was more medium well. I was so disappointed. Angel was our waitress and did everything she could to rectify our situation. I give her and the wait staff 5 stars ! This is the first time we brought food home and just threw it away, except for the free piece of bread pudding she gave us.

I don't know how they cook the meat, but it was more medium well. I was so disappointed. Angel was our waitress and did everything she could to rectify our situation.
