The amount of food they serve is huge. I like their price and they really cook it well for you. Especially their steaks. If you're also into shakes like Oreos, might as well get it! I would definitely recommend this to a friend!
I received a coupon for a free Birthday breakfast at Black Bear Diner in San Rafael. I absolutely loved everything about this beautiful restaurant! it good food but they take long to bring the food and the food comes cold and they take long to ask of u are ready but the people are rlly nice
I discovered Black Bear in my college days and as other people have said, I associate it with comfort food. The food might not be world-class, but it's tasty and I love the variety on their menu. Service when we came was so-so. Waitress was great, but it took a while for our food to come out, and the waitress that took over when the first one went on break seemed distracted and too busy. First time eathing here. I was pleasantly surprised at how incredibly delicious it was. EVERYTHING came out cooked perfectly. Especially the corn bread. Soft and warm. I had the chicken fried steak. It was perfection. This place puts a little more effort in their meals and presentation over Chilli's, AppleBs, etc. I loved the rustic vibe and the staff was friendly. And the best part, all the food was not over salted like most restaurants of this nature. Will definitely be returning. Glad this place exists. Happy customer
Food was great, as usual. They were short a cook so there was a bit of a wait, but we weren't in a hurry. Hostess still hooked us up with a discount because we didn't want dessert! So awesome!
I dig this place. The menu has a good selection and is basic diner food which if you can read and know you are walking into a diner getting ready for a diner menu you will enjoy to. Today I ate a whole order of French fries, the chicken bacon avocado sourdough club w/ fresh fruit all to the dome while sitting at the counter. The counter is pretty cute. My bf and I love this place. The servers are always friendly and go above and beyond. Terri is always friendly. Today she made my bf's day when she asked him if he needed more gravy for his biscuit. He was like, "yeah" and grinning from ear to ear. Talk about the size of the portions also, definitely 2 meals in one. I love the chicken taco salad.
