Ok let's real talk here. It's Black Bear. Great breakfast but do you dare order Prime Rib?!?!? Hell to the yes you do!!! OMG we were so shocked, not once, not twice, not three times but now over a dozen time!! The cut of beef is not "Prime" but is definitely "choice". Tender, not grainy and somehow a chain restaurant is cooking it to perfect temp week after week!! I like mine Rare and my Nom Buddy, well she ruins it at Medium but we both agree it's the best Prime Rib in Marin County!! Sorry Pete's 881 Club. Just the truth h... read more

Yummy breakfast food! We got there at 11:30 am and were seated right away. Huge menu of breakfast food, burgers, meatloaf, sandwiches, etc. We ordered brunch and I got the Original 2 Egg Scramble with sausage, ham, bacon, cheese, veggies and potatoes. It was so good! I didn't love the gravy on top and didn't seem needed. I also enjoyed the Biscuit! Fluffy and so good with butter and jam! The portions were huge and we did take a bit home after. My daughter enjoyed the Denver Omelet with ham, cheese and a side of potatoe... read more

We live down the street and like to come here once in a while for breakfast. There is never a long wait time - even during weekend mornings which is a popular time for them. Place is always clean and staff is friendly. Sometimes they can take a little long to come take your order or drop off your check, but that's understandable on a Sunday rush. I love the chorizo burrito! Portions for everything are generous. All in all, we like coming after church or he morning after a party with our friends.

On the road for work....my son and I had dinner here yesterday. Arrived about 7 pm, not busy. Seated immediately. Server took our order and got our drinks right away. We ordered the chicken fried steak meal, includes 2 sides, corn muffin, and soup or salad. I ordered a salad, mashed potatoes, and onion rings. My son got clam chowder and fries. The portions were generous and very good. The food arrived very quickly and was steaming hot. The chicken fried steak and gravy were delicious. The restaurant and bathroom was ver... read more

It was a rainy Sunday when we headed to the Big Bear Diner for a late brunch. Our friends had been there many times - it was our first visit. We only had to wait a couple of minutes for a table and from then on everything was great. We all enjoyed our meals. One of the great things is that you can get breakfast or lunch/dinner anytime during the day when they are open. It's a bit of an understatement to say the portions are generous! We had waffles, pancakes, eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs and a chicken sandwich between us, a... read more

So I was in the area and decided to get some takeout lunch. I'm so stuck on their breakfast items like the chicken fried steak and scramBOWL, I've never tried a burger. I rectified that today by getting a "classic American cheeseburger". It was delicious! I called the order in, pulled up right in front, got out of my car and went inside and paid Rubin. That finished, I waited outside to my car and Rubin brought my order out to me about ten minutes later (I was glad I decided to call in the order, so the wait time was reduced... read more
