So I went to a black bear diner in another state so this was the first time in Texas, and boy I had a great experience! Come here for brunch for sure! I got a unique chicken fried chicken (I believe) Benedict and it was so savory and good! I was so, so impressed! Definitely recommend for a low key easy going brunch. Our waitress was so nice and it was cool how we got such fast and good service even though we sat at the bar.
First time here. We had stellar service from Sharon and very quick turnaround on our order. I was intrigued by the sweet cream pancakes so I ordered those along with scrambled eggs and spicy sausage. If you like big fluffy pancakes, you'll love these! The sausage patties were large and very peppery -- and I enjoyed them. Will be back to try lunch soon
It was a nice place. Clean and cozy. There were not a lot of people there at the time. It was right after the lunch rush. The menu was very large for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The wait staff were friendly and courteous. My mom and I put in our orders, and our food was delivered within about 10 mins. I had eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Mom had a smaller portion of the same thing. Everything was good except the pancakes weren't as light as I thought they would be. They were a little gummy, in my honest opinion. We wi... read more
Black Bear is one of our favorite diner places to go to. Hostess seated us immediately. She was very nice. Server came quickly and ask what we would like to drink. She brought our water out immediately. We knew what we wanted to order, so she took our order right away. She was very nice & attentive at all times. Our food took about 15 mins to come out. No matter what time of the day it is, my kids and I love to eat breakfast food. My favorite Joe's Hobo Omelette (egg omelette with spinach, ham, onions, mushroom, & cheese) 5/... read more
Breast Timmmmmme! I cashed in on my Free Bear Choice Breakfast which comes with a waffle, pancake, or French toast, eggs, and sausage/bacon. Note, there are no substitutions. However, my previous pics show substitutions, I must've paid extra. Can quite remember. I don't eat eggs, so I chose the waffle and bacon. I went during the day so I was customer number 5. Location: Open your eyes, because if you drive too fast past it, you will probably miss it. It is nestled in the shopping center next to Ulta Beauty and ot... read more
BBD is located on a strip mall with free parking lot. There are plenty of indoor seatings, and some outdoor seatings. Other than food, BBD sells bear merchandise too. The menu comes in a form of newspaper. You will be spoilt with choices, and they have an all-day breakfast menu. I had the classic eggs benedict with creamy grits while my partner had the fish and chips. For the eggs benedict, the poached eggs were done right. However, the hollandaise sauce was a little too rigid. The creamy grits were not creamy enough and i... read more
BBD... aka Black Bear Diner.. such a cozy spot that reminds me of GoldiLocks and the three bears... except this bear theme is originating from Nor'Cal. Hence the theme of alll the northern trees and Nor'Cal Diner Vibes.. and yes.. some of my favorite diners are in California (my HomeState). On with the food. This spot has been tucked away within the land of Sugar since 2019.. I've been visiting since then and have always enjoyed the grub at BBD. Albeit, their are some days when the foods perfectly on par, and then on some ... read more
This is an absolutely stellar upscale diner in the University area of Sugar Land. I'd heard about it several times from a friend so we made a point of coming out and trying it on a random Sunday when we didn't really have any other plans. There was a bit of a wait, but the experience was still spectacular. Tables turned over reasonably frequently, and we were seated in a booth, which is my wife's preferred seating arrangment. We both opted for the Bear's Choice on our first visit, which is a combination breakfast similar t... read more
