In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Good quality and lots of options if you're looking for an abundant breakfast. It's one of the few options in the area that opens early. We got their chocolate chip pancakes and eggs with bacon and larger pancakes and everything was yummy and plenty. Service was welcoming and personable. I'd definitely go back (despite fares tend to be on the pricier end).
Michael our server went above and beyond to make sure we were seated quickly, our drinks were tefilled, and our food was hot. I was pleased when this spot opened because I always frequented their Vegas locations and the food here is just as good. Large portions huge omelettes and you can get cornbread with it. I have been to many BB diners. They are not all the same in terms of how they prepare their dishes and food quality. Also, the service is sometimes a hit or miss. We really enjoyed this location, and our server Dominik was excellent. He was friendly and attentive, all while being very busy. He was able to manage it all! I didn't catch the managers name, but she was out there hustling and cleaning tables and dealing with customers. Don't hesitate to stop by. The crispy chicken chef salad is great!

Big thanks to Scott and the rest of the staff for kindly letting us dine in even when the kitchen was close to closing (my sincerest apologies as well -- my mom and her boyfriend insisted).
