This place is so cute when you walk in. So fun. We got seated right away at a booth across from the counter & kitchen. Server was very sweet. Madison I think was her name. She took good care of us. There was a little girl at the counter by herself. But she had a DOG with her. On a leash. The dog was running around, got away from the girl several times and ran past us through the restaurant toward the door. It was extremely distracting as we were trying to relax after a very busy day. Memorial Day was our first time eating at Black Bear Diner formally Carrows. Scott our waiter was exceptional and genuine, with stellar customer service. Scott made it a point to remember my wife's name as we left which to me is HUGE. While my wife Sheri and I are not fans of sweet cream pancakes or waffles (never had them before) and fully understood the menu the food was good no complaints whatsoever and we will give this another go for sure try other things. Prime Rib was delicious! Went last Friday and we always seem to have a great experience there. It's also a cozy nostalgic feeling when dinning there. But honestly what has us coming back is Scott!. Scott was our server that night and he always makes sure we have what we need and keeps our drinks fresh and full. Hope to have him take care of us again next time!

I've been meaning to get to our local site for some time now. For work, I am knowledgeable about the Long Beach location. HUGE menu, plenty of great things to choose from. I am coming back for the breakfast items! Everything looks delicious! I stopped in for lunch with my wife. Staff is very warm and welcoming. Plenty of seating, even when it is busy. Great place to catch a meal, centrally located in Ventura and Freeway/Beach close. Make this your next stop.

Delicious food and impeccable service. I had the "little less" meal that included meat loaf . It was exceptional. Manny, Supervisor, handled our group in the back "group room" perfectly. We were all attended to in a timely manner and the food was delivered hot and fresh by the assigned waiters. They were also so accommodating. It was so good, we returned Friday for lunch!
