In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Had a meal with my family on Christmas day here and my server was Scott (Star Trek) he was very friendly and helpful and attentive, service was excellent and quickly served. We had a wonderful time dinning here, we travelled from another city so we definitely will be coming back! Thanks Scott!
Just had Turkey Dinner.... Meat was moist and temperature perfect!...Cornbread also was moist and fresh. Service provided by Scott was EXCELLENT and made my experience. Definite place to stop off 101 going south!

Black Bear Diner is a good choice for breakfast. Easy access, lots of parking and plenty of booths and tables. I like the calorie counts on the menu- encourages me to at least try to hold on to my diet goals... Service is friendly and quick. The prices reasonable and decor goes for "family diner" very nicely.
