In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Food was great, and the kid's meal is such a good value! I had the small pot roast and it was super tender and delicious. Our waiter, Scott was so knowledgeable and kind. He was busy, but very attentive and friendly throughout. He made the experience really great!

Met a friend for a post Christmas breakfast. The food was great. There was only 1 server for the entire restaurant at 8am. Once we ordered and the food came, she was too busy with all the other tables to come back. We requested to split the tab 50/50 which took 3 people and about 15 minutes to accomplish. In a haste, we clicked on the lowest tip option, just to get out of there. The lowest tip option ended up being 33%! The 18% was the lowest predestinated options, but it was on the entire bill.
