In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. The rather rustic western inspired menu, including cream, waffles and pancakes, and lots of huckleberry items and gigantic bear. Claw pastries is excellent and well prepared. Big thanks to Scott and the rest of the staff for kindly letting us dine in even when the kitchen was close to closing (my sincerest apologies as well -- my mom and her boyfriend insisted). Our group meets here every month. Always good food with generous portions. The accommodations offer everything we need and the service is excellent. We had a larger turn out than expected tonight and the staff was super friendly and efficient. Shout out to Maddie, Scott and Michael. Great teamwork!
