My kids and I are visiting Washington, and we came here for dinner. I'm so glad that we did! The service was quick and friendly, the food was amazing, portions were huge, and the prices were VERY reasonable!! I got the smaller portion of the country fried steak; it came with mashed potatoes, veggies, a salad, and a huge cornbread muffin, all for $12.49--it was SO delicious, and the portion was still too big for me to finish! They also serve breakfast all day, which my kids loved. We're planning to come back in the morning fo... read more

What a nice surprise to find this diner! First of all, our server, Krista was so very welcoming, even if the food had been horrible, (it was beyond amazing) we would have stayed just for her! Krista answered all of our many picky eater questions with the patience of a saint, describing each dish in a way that made us want to order the entire menu. She was very accommodating - we didn't have a lot of time to eat, due to a time deadline - and she made certain we received our food the way we had ordered it, and in a timely mann... read more

The best breakfast you can get in town hands down! Every time my buddies want to go to breakfast I vote Black Bear. I have yet to finish all of my food, you never leave hungry. I'm going to keep typing well after I want to because it says it's not long enough...oh now it enough :)

This location is diverse so I'm unsure why a comment pulled the race card. My mother is Hispanic/Latina and has always been treated with respect at Black Bear including this new Hoodoo location.

This was pretty good. I tried the pot roast and asked for the gravy on the side. Yum.

I was hesitant to eat here because I know this location has only been open a little while, but we had an entirely positive experience. We were seated promptly, our food came quickly and it was delish. We will be back!

Came by while on a trip to Utah and we were so happy with everything. Black Bear Diners are always cozy and the food is really good. This particular place looked brand new and it turns out they just opened it a few weeks ago. Thought it was weird that it had a low star rating but after reading the other reviews on here I just had to leave my comments and hopefully help out. This was a fantastic family dining experience. On the way in, we checked out the gift shop and loaded up the jukebox with some of our favorite songs. T... read more

Our family stopped for breakfast on our back from a family vacation and had an awesome experience here. Great service, good food and generous portions. Definitely would recommend.

This is a very good restaurant -- food, atmosphere and service-wise -- in general, with a few caveats... 1) They are quite pricey and what I would describe price-wise as the polar opposite of Denny's (however, the food quality is better at Black Bear, but Denny's is a better value for the money). 2) They offer no senior discount, but at some locations offer a military discount. 3) Parking can be a problem as can be the wait. At times, I've seen people waiting outside to get in. Once inside, the wait to get a table can b... read more
