We tried Black Bear Diner Washington again, seemingly forgetting about the last two horrible times we were there. And once again, we were galactically dissatisfied. Met and sat by a grumpy hostess, served by a server that clearly wanted to be somewhere else, and decided not to bring us our drink order. We left before we had to endure anymore. Avoid this place for dinner. I would give them no stars if that was a choice, Went there last night for dinner for the first time and had a horrible experience. First, they were out of shrimp and said it was being removed from the menu. Strange since there are more than 8 items on the menu that include shrimp. Second, they were out of the daily soup. They have hair bacon. Which I felt was not cool, not even a little bit. They also have hair fruit and hair eggs, so if you're into that sort of thing you might like this place but I didn't.

My wife and I went there for dinner this evening. I ordered ribs and shrimp with seasonal veggies and a potato.. My wife had the tri tip with seasonal veggies and a potato. Food: both of our meat dishes were Meh!! Not great, but not horrible about what I would expect at a Denny's (that's not a compliment). The veggies (broccoli and carrots) were inedible. They only had a select number of options because they couldn't decide on what to do for the menu which was only like 10 options. It's very confusing and they don't even have half of the items that they say are available on the menu. Their options also don't offer as much food as they usually do. Overall this experience is a 1 star for not having enough food options. Also this is all happening Christmas morning. Real bummer.

We visited Monday 8/19/24. The staff was friendly but the wait time was beyond unreasonable. We were seated immediately but it was at least a half hour before anyone came to our table. One party left before a member of the staff took their orders. We were on the verge of leaving but the waiter finally took our order. Our drinks took forever to arrive and our food was also slow, incorrect and one of our party waited about five additional minutes for their food to arrive. My wife and I traveled to Washington, UT to attend the wedding of a close friend. The Black Bear Diner was across from our hotel so we decided to give this location to try. Ambiance is typical for the Black Bear Dinner, cute and fun for kids. I ordered the turkey dinner and my wife ordered the fish and chips. This chain claims to make much of their food from scratch but that doesn't seem to be the case (in my estimation). My soup had no bacon, a few potatoes and very little taste. So hot in this diner!! I would rather eat in a sauna with how sweltering it was, made the food very un-enjoyable do to this, had to take it to go and finish eating in the my car with the A/C on. Our waitress looked very uncomfortable yet demonstrated virtuous professionalism, I can not for the life of me remember her name. Not sure if the patrons are trying to save money but no customer nor employee should be put to work in these conditions.
