I have used this co for many years for furnace tune ups, this time was much different. I told the tech my furnace had been making a awful noise. He said that some fan part was just warped but shouldn’t be a problem and that I was “ good for the winter”. After thinking about it I called and left a message that I had a question about my service. They never called back! I wanted to know about replacing that part, the tech never offered me a quote on anything. After about one month of still awful noise my furnace pilot light wen... read more

Please be cautious when doing business with Black Lion. I would strongly suggest you purchase your HVAC/Heat Pump from a more reliable company. 5 years ago we were sold a Trane furnace, heat pump ready, by a Black Lion salesman. They assured me this was a worthy purchase and they would be able to add the heat pump any time in the future when we were ready. 5 years later, we have a new salesman tech, Adam, who said they no longer carry Trane but could accommodate our needs with a Bryant heat pump. Expected delays due to suppl... read more

Black Lion installed our top-end Bryant heating system 7 years ago. It stopped working a month ago. Their tech diagnosed a failed inducer motor and ordered the part... quoting a month! A month has now passed with no word. We called. They have no record of the order, no interest in following up to see whether it exists or, more generally, to solve our problem of not having central heat for a month. Service tech who was here a month ago has quit. Owner is not reachable. Service manager is not reachable. We called Bryant, who r... read more

1. Incorrect charge - they were supposed to charge the $165 service fee on the day they came to diagnose, but they charged me nearly $700 2. They did not provide itemize charges, and at nearly almost $700, it was almost the cost of a regular water heater, so excessive charge. 3. They charged the full amount before the work was done 4. They did not send me invoice or notification after the charge was made - I had to find out when I saw the charge on my credit card. I consider Black Lion a business disorganized, and unethical ... read more

Terrible. The guy who came for the quote was rude in his talk and was not at all polite to a customer. They way he walked off rudely without any pleasantries and in middle of my talk while saying “I will send the quote” was utterly uncouth and not polite or professional at all. This was the first time to ask them and it is the last. If this the way they deal with customers then I shudder to think of any quality in their work. Thank God I did not go with them. All others I called for quote were very courteous and professional... read more

I am a general contractor with 15 years in the business. I hired Black Lion to install a Heat Recovery Ventilator in my own house that I built. The owner Ben claimed to have knowledge and installers to perform the installation. He also claimed to have one of these systems in his house. Having never installed one of these HRV systems before on any of my projects, I put my trust in Ben & Black Lion. The crew installed the system and it doesn't work right. After 3 weeks of continuous calls to both Ben the owner and his office s... read more

They charged me $165 for service visit and $138 for two fuses. These fuses go for $13 each on Amazon. Never again, obviously.

Tale of two companies: I have never written a negative review before but felt compelled to write to protect the public. My AC heat pump went out 1.5 weeks ago, the beginning of a heat wave. I called 2 HVAC companies Black Lion and rhymes with "neverseen." BL could come immediately so I agreed to pay 1/3 more $190 just for a diagnosis visit. A big mistake. The BL serviceman came on at issue, and did not give me an estimate. Days went by with no call or estimate. I emailed BL and called the receptionist, who said "Oh, I'll che... read more

DESTROYED our heat pump when they came to do a simple cleaning. A YEAR LATER it still wasn't fixed, and they offered ONLY A QUARTER of the replacement cost. They also refused to respond to the State Attorney General's inquiry, blocking a fair resolution. Had the technician known what he was doing, he could've told us it was too old and brittle to clean, and we could've used our home warranty to cover replacement.
