BMW least reliable cars I've ever owned Purchased my 2015 X5 w/ 50k miles on it less than 8months ago. Have brought it in (under warranty THANK GOD) 4 times already. So far, BMW has had to replace both turbos, top end, bottom end, and exhaust system, among other lesser items. Just the turbo replacement alone would have been $15k w/o warranty. When I tried to join BMW Connected they could not set me up because they said this was now a fleet vehicle. Meaning the dealer had used this as a demo some way. No one ever disclosed this to me. When the contract was drawn up it was not at the agreed upon price, but I was just signing quickly and didn't notice. Couldn't duplicate issue I experienced My car has intermittent issues with heater on passenger side not working, they could not duplicate it. So it's wait and see, To be fair, When I dropped it off, the car heater was working the week before it was not. You would think the computers would let you know what the issue is. I dropped it off on Tuesday at 2pm I never heard back from service until after 5 pm the following day after I called twice to see if they found the issue. That is not usual for this department

Short Term Sale Long Term Loss Sales team was dishonest about the 530e and when I returned it within 72 hours because the battery dies after 30 minutes they pretended like the car was defective. The service team confirmed the car was not defective. The dealership offered to let me swap it for a 530i but insisted I make a hurry up decision and was not allowed to transfer the car from another dealership or order the car I wanted from BMW. So I was forced to take a car I did not want for 3 years.

Go to ANY other BMW Dealership This is the 3rd BMW lease, but my 1st experience with Encinitas. I came here because they had the car I wanted in the color I liked. 4/27 I swapped out my old lease at Encinitas. All miles over were to be washed away, there was no balance to be carried onto my new deal. Over the next couple months I continued getting calls from BMW financial saying my old vehicle was not out of my name. I contacted my sales rep (Esan) 2-3 times regarding this issue. 6/24 when I received a notice from the DMV. I... read more
Really Nice Guys, but Not a Good Experience The guys I worked with were all really nice guys, but communication was spotty at best. I purchased the vehicle out of state, which is a challenge in itself. They made me feel very comfortable in the process, but once the cash was in and the financing closed, things really went down hill quickly. They had the car shipped to me, but they forgot to include the temporary license plate. Additionally, the deal has been closed for 10 days, and they still haven't sent me my paperwork. New 2018 340i xDrive Lease from BMW Encinitas After 14k miles and 18 months the rear brake pads needed replacement - a very abnormal maintenance issue - due to inner pads wearing out 3x faster than outer pads (3.7mm remaining vs. 10mm). Front brake pads are supposed to need replacement much faster than rear, yet they had at least 24k miles left. Lack of communication I made appt for a recall in which I had received a letter stating that a resolution was found and repair could be made. No one bothered to inform me that the part is still not available so I woke up early on my day off to drive 40 min to just turn around and head back home. Communication should be key.
