After 5+ visits, I have yet to have a good experience. When rotating my tires, they scratched the wheels so bad that 3 of them had to be repaired. They washed my car, even though I asked them not to, and the rear bumper was scratched so bad it had to go to the body shop to be repainted. But worse yet, they have sent me out the door twice telling me they fixed the problem, but when I got in my car, the problem was not fixed. We started our search for a car at Richmond BMW since we love our 2004 325i. We asked to see Steve Lerner since we knew his wife. He didn't even bother to ask how we knew her. He didn't take any time to ask us ANYTHING. ALL he wanted to do was give us his pitch. We told him we wanted to get a car about a year old because our budget was $30k. This was the worst service I have ever encountered in my life, it would appear that the staff of the parts department don't know one part from another, after 3 trips and 3 months I gave up.
My wife and I had been sharing one car, a Honda Civic EX; I was working from home and two wasn't necessary. As a new opportunity arose for me, we realized we needed a new car. The tech who inspected my vehicle failed it for the rear tires indicating the left rear had worn through. When I took it to the Firestone store to replace the tires, he pulled both and could not find any place where they were worn through. He also indicated that there was far more tread than required and passed the tires for inspection without an issue. Your dealership wanted $310.00 to replace one tire ($620.00 for both rear tires) and neither required it or even needed it.
I have purchased 7 new cars in my life, and buying a Mini Clubman S from at Crown Mini of Richmond has been by far the worst experience yet. I anticipate buying on that day, but rather information gathering on the car. I do not think ratings of all greats are fair, but for the questions you asked, I could not drop to good. MINI must expect plenty from their staff because they put it out there. Scares me that they were so good to me b/c they made tons of $$$ off my business with them...
I took my car to this dealership for a routine oil change because I purchased it new from this dealership. The service department left the car running in the parking lot all day after the oil change and drained the battery. Richmond BMW refused to replace the battery even though they were responsible. Their solution was to jump the car. I had to leave to pick up my spouse and when I returned 15 minutes later, the car was running in the lot with all of the doors unlocked, key in the ignition and the entire service department ... read more
These guys go out of their way to always do the right thing for the customer. If more dealerships just understood its not the sales process that customers remember when they go to buy a new car, it's the way they were treated by the service department. I am on my sixth vehicle serviced by this dealer and they are why I keep going back to BMW.
